When you're staying in one place for a while, taking the motorhome to refill its onboard propane tank requires breaking camp. An auxiliary cylinder gives you another propane supply that you can remove and refill while the motorhome stays parked. This pigtail connects that cylinder to a compatible motorhome propane system.
A broken or damaged propane hose can release propane rapidly, creating a serious fire hazard. The 0.9 GPM excess-flow POL fitting restricts propane flow when its closing rate is exceeded.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this MEC RV propane pigtail hose. Now this is a five foot long propane pigtail hose. It's going to let you connect an auxiliary propane cylinder to a compatible motor home propane system. The main advantage is that if you're staying parked for a while, you're going to be able to use a removable propane cylinder instead of having to break camp and move the motor home just to refill the onboard propane supply.
So the connections are probably going to be the most important thing to check before buying this. On the cylinder side, you're going to have a male POL fitting with a 7/8" nut that's going to tighten with a wrench. On the other end, you're going to have a 1/4" male inverted flare. So you'll want to make sure that your propane system has the compatible female connection. Something else worth noting is that the POL fitting has an excess flow feature rated at 0.9 GPM.
So if the hose gets damaged and propane suddenly starts flowing too quickly, this fitting is designed to restrict the flow. And so this is going to be a great safety feature to consider. This hose itself is 60 inches long, or five feet. So you have some room to position your auxiliary cylinder. It's made from thermoplastic and it has fully crimped brass ferrules on each end.
This has a working pressure of up to 350 PSIG and it carries a 400-pound pull test rating. This is also listed as UL and CGA approved for propane service. I think it's going to wrap up our look today. Again, they call me Andy. Thank you for joining me.
