The Yakima OverHaul HD Truck Bed Ladder Rack handles 500 lbs on-road and 300 lbs off-road, so it’s ready for hauling ladders, lumber, kayaks, or a rooftop tent. It’s built from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat that resists rust and wear, and the HD bars measure 68" long x 3" wide x 1-1/2" thick. This rack was tested to exceed ISO standards for rough terrain, meaning it can take on jobsite abuse or long backroad trips without losing stability.
When you’re switching from work gear to weekend gear, being able to change the rack height from 19" to 30" makes all the difference. Keep it low for easy loading or raise it up for kayaks or construction materials. Etched measurements on the uprights make it simple to match the height on both sides, and the adjustable crossbar spread from 36" to 89" gives you flexibility for any setup.
The QuickChange system means you can install or remove the rack in minutes. It mounts to Toyota and Nissan factory utility tracks using track adapters—no drilling needed. BedGrip clamps secure to the bed rails, and once in place, the uprights and crossbars slide on and off without tools. That makes it easy to take the rack off when you need full bed access or put it back on when it’s time to haul again.
T-slots on the top, bottom, inside, and outside of the uprights and crossbars let you attach lights, load stops, rollers, or eye bolts wherever you need them. Rubber strips in the top channels help cut wind noise and keep metal parts from rattling. Endcaps double as tie-down points, giving you secure anchor spots for ratchet straps or cargo ropes.
The aluminum frame is strong but lightweight, and it won’t rust even after years in the elements. The black powder coat adds another layer of protection while keeping the rack looking sharp. Yakima even threw in their signature bottle openers on the uprights—handy for a cold drink after a long day of hauling.

I saw this Ladder Rack on the back of a friend's truck and knew it was the perfect fit for me. I needed a truckbed camper cover but did not want to lose the openness of the bed for taller objects. This rack system allows me to use my cargo box to store things out of the elements and to have my bed free for taller objects.

If you have a Toyota Tundra with the factory tie down rail system you need this rack.

Last week I installed the rack on my wife's 2019 Toyota pickup truck. Becuse she has a rail/track system on her vehicle,Yakima has designed a special kit to go along with the rack. It took me about 2 hours in the heat of the day to get it finished. Wow, what a great piece of engineering! The rack is super strong and impressive. My wife loves it and several people at her work have inquired about it. I would recommend this rack for anyone who appreciates quality and wants the confidence of knowing that whatever you securely strap down on the cross bars will reach its destination safely. Yakima really hit a home run with this product. I would also like to add that the folks at Trailer.com are quite knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with.
Excellent rack. It took time to assemble but was pretty easy to do- especially with the help of on-line videos. Also, excellent customer service- item was back ordered and we received regular updates on expected delivery date. We bought the rack for our 2017 Toyota Tacoma and are extremely happy with it.
The rack arrived fast in three separate boxes (base,Tacoma kit, and crossbars). The box with the cross bars was a little dinged up, but everything inside was fine. Items were packaged very nice and organized.
Seeing it up wasn't too bad. I took care of the Tacoma adapter one evening and the rest the following evening. The only tricky part was getting the cross bars aligned and attached. That part would definitely be easier with an extra set of hands or clamps. And then getting the screws in closest to the post was a bit of a bear. I'm sure there are more mechanically inclined people who would have gotten it 1,2,3.
Putting the Tacoma kit on was SUPER EASY courtey of watching the instructional video a couple of times! Such a fine feature on this site! Thank you for that!
I also needed to go over which base went where. There was a small illustration that showed which one sent where. Only to a minute to figure out out, but maybe labeling each one and having a diagram in the instructions would facilitate that part.
Overall, not a tricky installation by any means. And they look GREAT!!! Love the powder coat paint and the style! I'm really happy with them!
Great rack system able to lower them to go through car washes or even take it off when hauling bigger things in the truck bed. Works great with bed cover. I use it for everything. No permit drilling and really structurally solid. I have hauled beams of wood which I had to raise them higher then the roof of truck , kayaks, ladders, etc.
