What Happens To The Weight Capacity Of The Yakima OverHaul HD When Using Tonneau Cover Adapters

Question:

If I pair this ladder rack system for my 2021 Toyota Tacoma Long bed with the RetraxProXR Tonneau Cover RTT-80852 does that effect the weight-carrying capacity of the rack any, or is it still rated for 500 lbs on road and 200 lbs off road? Also, just out of curiosity, I know these weight capacities are listed for on road and off road driving differing dynamic weight capacities, but what is the static weight capacity when the vehicle is parked? I have a roof top tent that sleeps 4, so coupled with the weight of the tent 160 lbs in addition to 4 grown adults up to 200 lbs each, I am just curious what the static weight limit is of this particular system. That is a whopping total weight of around 800-900 lbs with people weight and tent weight, with no gear in the tent.

The The OverHaul HD # Y01151-5868 by itself has a 500lb capacity on-road, 300lb capacity off-road, and 800lb static capacity. When using the Tonneau Cover Adapter Kit # Y01155 that changes to a 300lb capacity on-road, 180lb capacity off-road, and the static capacity remains at 800lbs.

Since you're figuring that you'll be over 800lbs you'll have to kick someone out of the rooftop tent and use another option like a rear seat mattress # 341033 or truck bed mattress # 341005 (5' bed) # 341003 (6' bed). You can also kick two people out so you have more room to sleep or house your gear and go with an standard tent like the Kelty Wireless Camping Tent # KE29TR.
