Thule T2 Pro

The Thule T2 Pro XTB platform-style bike rack lets you carry 2 bikes using your vehicle's hitch. It is designed to carry bicycles of varying sizes and styles, and it can hold bikes with fat tires up to 5" wide. The bike trays adjust to optimize bike spacing and reduce bike-to-bike contact. The ratcheting arms and wheel trays secure your bikes by the wheels so there's no frame contact. The rack installs easily without the need of tools with the AutoAttach system. And the front-mounted HitchSwitch lever allows the rack to easily tilt down with bikes loaded for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area and fold up when not in use. Finally, the rack includes One-Key System lock cylinders to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

Thule T2 Pro ratcheting arms

The rack allows you to quickly and easily load and carry 2 bicycles on the back of your vehicle. The ratcheting arms securely hold your bikes by the front wheels so there's no frame contact. Simply push the button on the hook and slide it firmly into place over your front wheel.

Thule T2 Pro ratcheting arms

The wheel hook also has a cutout on the side so it won't interfere with fat bike suspensions.

Sliding Rear-Wheel Cradles

Thule T2 Pro sliding rear-wheel cradles

The sliding rear-wheel cradles allow the rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 50-1/2" long, and they accommodate tires up to 5" wide. The cradles include ratcheting, rubber straps to hold your bikes' rear wheels securely in place on the tray.

Thule T2 Pro sliding rear-wheel cradles for fat bikes

For fat bikes, the strap needs to be removed from the bottom of the cradle and re-routed up through the side. This increases the usable length of the strap to secure wider tires.

Adjustable Bike Trays

Thule T2 Pro adjustable trays

The front and back bike trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just loosen the 4 bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then tighten the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates the fear of bike-to-bike contact during transport.

Front-Mounted HitchSwitch for Easy Tilting

Thule T2 Pro tilt down

The front-mounted HitchSwitch lever allows one person to easily tilt the T2 Pro XTB. The rack tilts down with or without bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area.

Thule T2 Pro tilt up

The lever also lets you fold the rack up for storage when you're not transporting a bike. This is great for parking in places where space is limited such as a parking garage.

Easy Installation with AutoAttach System

Thule T2 Pro installation

The T2 Pro XTB installs quickly and easily with the AutoAttach system. Simply open the Auto Pin, slide the shank into your receiver, and close the pin so it slides through the pin hole and shank.

Once installed, turn the hand knob underneath the rack to tighten the shank in your receiver. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

Thule T2 Pro locking system

The rack comes with One-Key System lock cylinders to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Integrated cable locks extend from the ends of the wheel hooks and wrap around your bikes' frames to lock them to the rack.

Thule T2 Pro locking system knob

The hand knob also comes with a lock cylinder to keep the rack from being removed from your hitch. One-Key System cylinders can be swapped out to make all of your Thule gear keyed alike.

Optional 2-Bike Add-On

Thule T2 Pro 2-bike add-on

There is a 2-bike add-on available (TH9036XT - sold separately) for the T2 Pro XTB that will allow you convert it from a 2-bike carrier to a 4-bike carrier. To install the add-on, simply remove the HitchSwitch lever from the end of the T2 Pro XTB, slide the add-on's shank into the hole on the bike rack, secure the shank with the bolts that come with the add-on, and reattach the HitchSwitch lever.

Video Transcript for Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTB Two Bike Platform Rack in Black, part number TH9034XT. This will also come in silver as part number TH9034XTS. The Thule T2 Pro XTB Bike Rack can carry a wide variety of bike thanks to how they attach to the rack, and they carry up to two bikes ranging from fat bikes to road bikes to mountain bikes to kids bikes, to alternate frame bikes as well. One of the nicest features about this bike rack is its ability to tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. What makes it unique is it has this hitch switch lever at the front, which enables it to tilt down. A lot of other bike racks will have its lever up towards the front underneath the front bike, so it might make it a little more difficult to do this. Instead, you just hold onto the bike rack, engage the hitch switch and let it come forward.

Then we have access to our rear hatch. When you're ready to put it back into its original position, just simply lift up until you hear that click, and it's locked back into place. Now, how the bikes actually attach to the bike rack, we're going to have two points of contact. We're going to have this wheel hook up at the front. Then we're going to have this adjustable wheel strap at the rear. Now, this can move along the arm here to accommodate different size bikes.

These rear wheel straps are actually ratcheting straps. Meaning, they have this ratcheting action to tighten them down. The wheel cradles are able to hold tire sizes up to 5 inches wide, which enables us to put our fat bike tire on this bike rack. Also for added security, we have an integrated cable lock on both ends of our wheel hooks to wrap around our bikes to secure them to the bike rack. Now, these will be keyed alike, and they'll also be keyed alike with anti-rattle knob, which secures your bike rack to the hitch. Also, if you're having issue of spacing between the bikes, you loosen up the screws underneath here, you can actually slide these back 3 inches to the left or right to accommodate that. Now with our bikes off, let's go ahead and show you a couple more features.

Right now we have it in what we call the loading position. However, for those close quarter situations such as parking or putting it in your garage, to gain more clearance in the rear you can fold this up against the vehicle. You again come to the hitch switch lever, pull it towards you, and push up until you hear the click again. Now we have more clearance. Finally, our last feature is the fact that this is a tool-free install to put it into your vehicle.

Instead of having an anti-rattle bolt or a pin and clip, it has the auto pin on the side and the locking anti-rattle bolt to secure it to your vehicle. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the bike rack, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We have it set in front of our vehicle here. We'll first come down to our shank here and open up our auto pin like so. Then we'll lift up our bike rack and set it into the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes and push our auto pin into place. Then we'll come to our end here to our anti-rattle knob and start turning it to the right. This is going to take out the shake and play in the shank as you turn it to the right. Now, it's a good idea while you're tightening this to kind of jiggle it back and forth, so you know that it's getting nice and tight up against the hitch while you're doing this. All right, we're good to go. Now we'll lock it into place. Once you lock it, that'll just free spin and not loosen up or tighten up. With our bike rack secured in our hitch, now we'll fold it out to the loading position. We'll come to the hitch switch lever, pull up like so, and let it come down. You're going to hear that click, and now it's locked in this position. Now we'll get it ready to receive our bikes. We'll start by undoing our rear wheel straps. We'll push in on this gray tab at the bottom like so. That'll release our strap. Then we'll fold out our wheel hook. We'll start by lifting it up, and to extend it out the entire way you just push this gray trigger on the inside like so. Push up and then fold it out the rest of the way. Repeat this for our front cradle. Now, since we're putting our fat bike closest to the vehicle, we actually have to remove this strap to make it longer. We'll take off the cover here and just push the strap down where it comes out at the bottom. Then you pull it out all the way, like so. Then we'll come to the back and reinsert it. Now our strap is long enough for the fat bike tire. We'll go ahead and put our pad back on as well. Now let's go ahead and get our bikes. We'll lift it into place, setting it into our one cradle, then our rear. We'll bring up our wheel hook. Push it down so we can attach our rear wheel strap. Push it down, and then we'll ratchet it into place, making sure that we try to keep it in between our spokes. There we go. All right, now that's secure. We'll move on to our outer bike now. We'll just lift this into place, set it down in the cradles. We'll make our adjustment here sliding it forward. Bring our wheel hook down, and then we'll finally put in our rear wheel strap. All right, that's nice and secure as well. At this point, normally we would lift out the integrated cable lock and we put it through the bike around this area here, but there's not enough space to get through so we'll just wrap it around our frame and do it that way. Pull it out all the way. Make sure you secure it around it. Attach it to our lock. Then we'll lock it into place, and we'll repeat this for our front bike as well. Now with everything loaded up and secured to our bike rack, we'll go ahead and take it on our test course. First we'll take it onto our slalom course. This will show you the side to side action such as making turns or evasive maneuvers. Now we're at the alternating speed bumps. This will show you how it looks driving on uneven pavement or potholes. Finally, we're at the solid speed bumps, which simulates going into your driveway or parking lots. That'll do it for our Thule T2 Pro XTB Two Bike Platform Rack in Black, part number TH9034XT.

Love this rack! We have logged thousands of driving miles in the last year while taking our bikes to various rallies. We upgraded to this rack from a yakima hanging rack. I much prefer supporting bikes from the bottom which avoids any potential issues with cable stretch and bikes knocking into each other. This rack also provides much better visibility when driving (both unloaded and loaded). 561865

This is a great rack and simple to assemble. Very convenient to just throw bikes on and go. The only negative is that the box had a huge hole in it when I received it and the rack was all chipped up and scratched. I’m assuming that was caused by UPS during shipping. 653963

I Purchase of the 2018 Thule TR Pro with the Black Finish. I am very impressed with the overall design and stout construction. This is my first bicycle Rack that I have ever purchased. I assembled the Rack after installed the rack frame to the hitch of my 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I was VERY impressed with the internal locking system after placing the rack into the 2" x 2" hitch. After assembly I then loaded our Two BICYCLES . With the rack loaded with our two adult bicycles and temporarily lowered to the 4 or 8 o'clock position; and the inside Bicycle pedal in the 12 o'clock position. I am free to lower the tailgate of the pick-up and gain access to the covered truck bed of my Tacoma. The loading of the bicycles seems relatively easy. Just for an added level of load security I am going to incorporate a lower security strap to the front wheel hitches supporting baskets. And take the tail end of the strap and do a quick "Hitch" to the "Sheppard's Crook" that locks down at the top of the front wheel. Looking forward to some new places to Ride. Regular "free Shipping was fine to my home in 3 working days + the weekend. 509768

I purchased an Ecohitch Class III hitch, and Thule T2Pro XTB bike platform for my 2017 Subaru Outback Limited. I did the entire assembly and installation in about 3 hours, one afternoon, with very limited assistance from my wife. The hardest part of the entire process was figuring out how to disconnect the connector for the backup sensors, and cutting the hole for the hitch receiver in the bumper fascia. The video was absolutely priceless to show how the little plastic pieces held the fascia together, and how they could be detached. I think that I might buy some new ones because they are not quite as tight when installed the second time. It was not clear from the Thule instructions, but it is helpful to have the hitch installed before putting the bike platform together, because the hitch can get the platform up in the air, and make the assembly a lot easier. I also found that the security cable was could be lengthened a bit, but it still fit, once I figured that the plastic piece was intended to be detached from the arm when it was serving as a lock. This is a very substantial structure to add to the back of the vehicle. I really like the Ecohitch, and the way that it is concealed behind the bumper. This makes it worth the extra money. The Thule is heavy, but now I don't have to lift the bikes up on top of the roof, which is difficult for us mature people with bad shoulders. And our bikes don't have a traditional top-tube, so we needed something that could hold the bikes by the wheels alone. All-in-all a good purchase, easy to install, and it looks like it will work well. I also plan to use the hitch to pull a small trailer, and it looks like that should work well, too. 476519

This is an excellent bike rack. It is easy to use, looks good, and hold the bikes very securely. No bouncing or rubbing at all. The lock cables are really handy to thwart casual thieves, but they really should be longer - it would make them easier to use. You can really only loop them through your frame front triangle. It is really easy to fold up and down with the handle on the end of the boom. The plastic locking knob to tighten the hitch to the rack is a little disappointing. It is under the vehicle and I will have to see how well it holds up to gravel spray from miles of gravel roads. It would have been nice to see metal parts in that area. You do have to assemble the rack. It is not that hard, but you do have to follow the instructions, which are good, but not great. My box/bag was missing a single washer, which I replaced with a silver one from my spare parts bin. The allen head bolts that hold the cradle and arms to the beams are very soft material, and it is easy to bung up the shallow allen head if you're not careful. In combination with the Draw-Tite hitch on my 2018 Subaru Outback, when folded up, the cradle of the inner holder is only a quarter inch or so from the end gate. It doesn't and can't actually touch, but it is close. The upside is that it folds very nicely against the back of my car, allowing me to close the garage door with the rack on and folded. And I can't even see the rack from inside the vehicle when folded. All-in-all an excellent rack. Give it some better hardware and longer lock cables and it would be nearly perfect. 440266

- TH9034XT

Much better than the typical bike racks that "hang" your bikes. Quite easy to load bikes and holds them very securely, with minimal chance for damage to frames, fenders, etc. Rack is quite heavy and probably not all that easy for some people of smaller stature to attach to the vehicle. It's also fairly large and storage when it's off the vehicle could pose a challenge. Did a lot of research before choosing this rack and firmly believe it to be an optimal choice, although in the case of a Jeep Wrangler it doesn't allow the rear door to be opened when the bikes are loaded onto the rack. 500565

Still awesome.

I was hesitant to spend almost $500 on a bike rack, but it was worth it. I've used trunk bike racks for years, which take a long time to mount and dismount, and I'm never comfortable on the highway with them. This rack is NOT like that. It's solid as a rock, easy to use, and I didn't worry for one second about my bikes driving on the I-95 corridor yesterday and today. The only downside to this rack, as a previous reviewer pointed out, is that the assembly instructions, which are only pictures, are frustrating and funny all at the same time. I watched a video online on the assembly and it was very easy with that help, but I'm not sure I would have figured it out solely on the instructions in the box. But even then, I had it assembled and on my 2018 Highlander with the bikes in about an hour. The hitch mount is superb - the "snugging" knob has the dual function of removing an movement of the rack in the hitch AND it locks, so that once it's tightened up in the hitch, it can't be removed. The rack itself is very solid and handles my wife's 50-pound electric bike with no problem. I put my road bike on with it, which is an easy fit. I haven't tried my MTB, but the rack is so adjustable that I can't imagine there will be a problem. Thanks to this rack, my wife went on a bike ride with me this morning for the first time in years because we were able to go to a nice trail (she doesn't like to ride on the streets around our neighborhood. I also tried out the cable locks this morning and they are very easy to use and a nice added feature. Some previous reviewers complain that the cables aren't very secure, but they seem pretty solid to me; certainly enough of a deterrent to prevent a quick snag by a thief walking by the vehicle. Best of all, this was the best price on this rack that I found anywhere on the internet! I purchased my hitch from etrailer and this bike rack - I'm very happy with both. 646818

- TH9034XT

I am very happy with this bike rack. Bicycles load and unload easily and quickly, and feel very secure. The cable-lock on the front arm is nice, but as it only secures the front wheel, I use additional bike locks if security is an issue. The bike rack itself is very secure and I like the way it locks in place as well. I also purchased two Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch, Code numbers 78690 and 75225. One is for a 2017 Honda Pilot, and the other is for a 2005 Honda CRV. All items were received in less than a week. Installation was a breeze on the Pilot, as there are nuts already welded in the frame to receive the hitch. The installation on the CRV was more complicated because there are no such nuts, and the muffler is in the way. The online instructional videos are excellent, and well worth viewing--especially for the CRV. Since I don't have a cold chisel, I used a small Dremmel grinder to enlarge the hole. I was looking for a hitch that would work on both cars and a motorhome, and this is excellent. I toggled through several on the web site and settled on this one because, even though it cost more, it would more simple to raise and lower by all family members to gain access to the back of the car with bikes in place. My only complaint is that it is not really compatible with the older CRV with the wheel mounted on the back of the car. It is perfectly fine with bikes mounted, but the larger front wheel basket on this rack does not clear the spare wheel on the right side when folded up. A front wheel basket with less of a profile might work. I also considered cutting off the interfering part of the basket so that it could fold up to the locked position, but I don't know how important that part is. I will use the rack for awhile first. 554081

Still working well. I see that I made an error about half way through the review. I meant to say that I was looking for a bike rack rather than hitch that would work on both cars....

We received the bike carrier the same day we had the towing package installed on our 19 Equinox. Everything went together with no leftover parts and we installed our e- bikes with (mostly) ease. It is very sturdy, can’t wait to take it on the road. 679456

Review: Draw Tite Class III Trailer Hitch/Draw Bar Purpose: Bicycle Carrier - Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting - Black Vehicle: 2013 Honda CR-V My wife decided on the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack to haul 2 bicycles with on the rear of her 2013 Honda CR-V. An internet search brought me to etrailer.com. What a terrific Website! I purchased the Draw Tite Class III hitch. The choice was unequivocal after watching the outstanding customer installation video's on the website, the reviews by others who've done the install, and most of all the pictures that were on-line which has prompted me to add to the reviews with pics of my installation to help others. The cost was a very affordable. It arrived in less than 4 or 5 days in perfect condition and complete with all the hardware. The instructions are straightforward, but not detailed enough to show exactly where to make the cut in the protective plastic under panel since I wanted to keep the panel intact. The pics speak for them selves, and the video's and other reviews will give enough information on how to install the hitch, so no need to repeat there here. I used an oscillating multi-tool to make the cuts which took less than a minute to accomplish. The hardest part of this was making sure of WHERE to make the cut. I didn't take measurements like the others. Instead, I looked at the pics from other installations, picked the best ones that showed where to make the cut, printed it out on an 8x10 piece of paper and placed in right on the panel I was about to cut! There are manufacturing marks in the plastic and ridges in it. I just duplicated the picture (my pics also show the same thing) marked it with a pencil and cut it on the recommended 3 sides. Don't cut out a chunk like the instructions say to do! I trimmed the material attached to it on the inside so that the flap, and placed it back on the car with 2 screws to hold it in approximate position while I mounted the hitch (per the video). When it came time to thread the bolts into the frame, I just pushed the flap in, stuck my hand in there and threaded the bolts in place. Very easy. Tightening the bolts required a long extension for the torque wrench, but not a big deal. To secure it, I drilled some holes and installed tie wraps. I still need to put some 3M 4200 or 5200, or some RTV on it to seal the spaces. There is only one thing I miscalculated, and it's evident in the pictures. There is a 'gap' of about 1/4 in the flap behind the steel mounting plate. I should NOT have trimmed the whole flap until after the hitch was installed, but I did it beforehand allowing for 1/4 to accommodate the steel hitch hanger. I could have trimmed it to an exact fit after the hitch was tightened in place. To fix that, I will use some 4200 I have laying around and do a gap-fill by laying a big bead of it on a piece of duct tape and sticking it in place. I'll also put some around where the hitch protrudes through it to seal it off against dirt and water, etc. Hope this helps. By the way, I took my time on the install. I spend over 2 hours doing it, but there is a learning curve. I could do another one in half the time since I now know how to do it. *** George at etrailer.com has been extremely helpful with follow-up emails and offers of help if needed. They are a fantastic company and I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to purchase anything from them! Thank you etrailer.com! 430310

Thule did it again! Good product, great finished on the bike rack. I chose the black finish cause it’s going to match my car. Easy to use and assemble, took me an hour to assemble including the m7 hitch. Mostly using it for mtb rides. Guys if you want a bike rack this is the one for you. 466839

This is a great bike rack that is easy to load bikes onto. I get a lot of compliments on how tough it is. I've had it for almost 4 months now and have got plenty of use with it. etrailer is a great site to purchase from. I also bought a tow hitch that worked out perfectly. The only problem I had with the rack was that the squeeze/handle doesn't catch anymore. So I can't lower the rack. In contact with Thule to see what can be done to fix. T Hopefully it is a minor fix, so I can get back to loading bikes. :) 433659

Rack is exactly what I expected, sturdy, easy to use and perfect for mtb bikes. First time customer of etrailer and I will definitely buy from these guys again. Great price, and quick delivery 696457

Great bike rack! It is super heavy duty yet reasonable to take off and place on car. I am no mechanical wizard but it was very easy for me to assemble. On the car, it is extremely stable and solid. It folds flat against the back gate (without actually coming into contact with it) when not in use hauling a bike. I highly recommend this rack as well as the excellent customer service provided by etrailer! 676805

What a great company to order this product from! The instructional videos are perfect to help make a decision and then for ease of use. They have great customer service and follow-up! They are with you all of the way. 666739

I am totally convinced Thule makes the best racks. It is so sturdy and sound, I trust my bike is well taken care on it. I also am extremely impressed with etrailer, I was able to thoroughly research my bike rack and hitch options due to the magnificent videos they take the time to produce, just for their customers. Yet their pricing is competitive. I always recommend etrailer to my family and friends. 657191

Really happy with this bike carrier. Attaches quickly without hardware which was a huge plus for me as my bike rack is on and off my vehicle a few times per week. Super steady vehicle mount and really solid bike attachment. Overall a great product with no complaints! 647246

This is one amazing trailer hitch! I have a carbon fiber hybrid bike and this rack puts zero stress on the frame. The best thing I like about the rack is how quickly I can put it on the car and have my bike ready to go. Yes, it's slightly heavy but for the average person it shouldn't be a problem lifting. I've had this bike rack for exactly 1 year now and have gotten quite a bit of use out it and have zero complaints... 609476

The pinnacle of bike racks. Hauls my 60 lb electric fat bike around with no problem. Quickly and solidly attaches my bikes so I'm on my way without a lot of messing around. Well worth the funds. 602298

I love the sturdiness and features of the bike rack. The security features that help prevent the bike rack and the bicycles from being stolen are great. It is easy to load bicycles on to the bike rack and it is easy to place the bike rack into the hitch. So far I am very happy with this product. 571325

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Two Electric Bikes Weighing Over 65 lbs Each
There are bike racks that will be able to carry the weight of your two 66-1/2 lb RadRover Electric Bikes with fat tires, although as you mentioned the only way to use the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT with bikes that heavy would be to remove the batteries. For 66-1/2 lb bikes with 4 inch tires you have two options if you want to carry the bikes without removing the batteries. The first option is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack for Electric Fat Tire...

  • Comparing Thule T2 Pro XTB and Swagman Escapee Platform Bike Racks for Use on a Motorhome
Pretty recently bike manufacturers have been clarifying if they rate their racks to be carried on the back of a motorhome or trailer. Some have even changed their standards and others have come out with new racks that are rated for more usage with extra features. That's why you're finding contradictory information that makes it confusing. One big change is that a lot of racks are rated to be used on a motorhome but not a trailer of any kind. Beforehand those two categories were combined...

  • Is Draw-Tite or etrailer Hitch Better for 2019 Subaru Outback with Thule Bike Rack
The etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98847 is a better option than the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75673 for your 2019 Subaru Outback for one simple reason: clearance. The hitches will be the same in terms of installation but as you can see by the linked installation video of both hitches on a '19 Outback, the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98847 offers about 3/4" more ground clearance and approximately 1-1/2" more bumper clearance, both of which are important factors for carrying accessories...

  • Will a Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack Fit an EcoHitch on a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek
The Thule T2 Pro bike rack # TH9034XT will fit EcoHitch # 306-X7203 for your 2017 Subaru Crosstrek. However, it requires a receiver depth of 2-1/2 inches so if you only have 2-3/8 inches it would fit the muffler if that is what is directly behind the hitch receiver. The auto-pin would not be an issue if there was room for the bike rack shank. What I recommend is the Thule DoubleTrack Pro # TH9054. It requires just 1-1/2 inches of receiver depth. No auto-pin to worry about with this rack....

  • Comparing Thule T2 Pro to Kuat Sherpa 2.0 on 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
The Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT is a very nice rack that will tilt-away, fold-up, and will hold the bikes by their wheels. That rack will allow bikes up to 60 lbs each and with tires up to 5 inches wide. The closest part of the rack when folded is 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin and the carrier weighs 52 lbs. The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G is also a very nice rack that will tilt-away, fold-up, and holds the bikes by their wheels. The...

  • Hitch & Support Straps for Using Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack TH9034XT on 2015 Subaru WRX
Thule recommends using any of their hitch bike racks, such as their T2 Pro bike rack # TH9034XT, only in those hitches that offer at least 1-1/2-inches from the receiver opening to the center of the hitch pin hole. This dimension is shown in the linked diagram. Thule's concern is that when there is less than this amount of steel between the hitch pin hole and the end of the tube the weight of the loaded rack could damage the hitch. This is a safety concern more than a concern about...

  • Will the Thule T2 Pro XTB Work on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon with the Curt Hitch C13410
The Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TH9034XT will work with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13410 on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. There will not be any clearance issues because the hitch pin hole on the Curt hitch is only recessed 3" and the closest part on the bike rack while folded up is 5" away from the center of the hitch pin hole. Therefore, you will have around 2" of space between the bumper and bike rack while folded up. I have attached an install video...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Outback for Thule T2 Bike Rack
The best option for a 2 inch hitch for your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon is the Draw Tite part # 75673 which is a confirmed fit and doesn't require a stabilizer strap like the Curt hitch does when carrying a bike rack. This will work great with the Thule T2 Pro part # TH9034XT as well without requiring an extension. We had the chance to test fit this rack on a 2017 Outback with this hitch installed and we found it fit well. See install video and picture attached for more info.

  • Best Bike Rack for Carbon Frame and Electric Bike With Fenders
The issue with the Thule T2 Pro XTB # TH9034XT bike rack is that it is a wheel-mounted rack so the fenders on your wife's Electra Townie would not allow it to mount so she would need a frame-mounted bike rack. However, your carbon frame bikes ideally need a wheel-mounted rack in order to avoid potentially damaging the frame. This means you need a bike rack that will mount your bikes by the wheels OR by the frames and that option is the Rola Convoy 2 Bike Platform Rack # 59308-2. This...

  • Comparing Thule Classic T2 vs Thule T2 Pro XT
The Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9044 and the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT are very similar. The differences are in the maximum wheelbase being 2-1/2 inches longer totaling 50-1/2 inches and there being more space between bikes on the Pro XT model. The Pro XT will end up being about 2 lbs heavier due to that. Both of these bike racks will work very well for hybrid bikes up to 60 lbs each and mountain bikes. • Adapting a Thule T2 Bike Rack for a 27.5 Inch Fat Bike with 4.5 Inch Wide Tires
There's actually a different way of accommodating the fat bike to the rack. Part of the issue for fat bikes on the older T2 racks will be that the fat bike tires won't sit all the way down into the cradle, making them artificially larger. The original T2 is only equipped to handle up to 3 inch wide tires. • Using a Hitch Extender with a Thule T2 Pro XT Bike Rack
