Question:

Does the Bones 2 rack fit on a 2019 Santa Fe? Ive read previous answers that said it does but none of them seem to take into account the spoiler feature on the rear door. It is made of plastic and certainly does not feel like it would take the combined weight of 2 bikes and the rack itself approx. 79lbs without snapping off or damaging the plastic spoiler and brake light fixture.

Great question!

The Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack # SA805BL has been confirmed by Saris to fit your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. The only note they have about the installation though is to make sure the lower feet are placed into the license plate well as opposed to on your bumper.

With that being said, trunk mount bike racks can damage spoilers if they are loaded to their max and/or used a lot. Since these types of racks are also touching the paint on the body of your vehicle I tend to lean towards recommending hitch mount racks for a few reasons; first is the rack won't be making any type of contact with your vehicle, and the second is depending on the rack you may be able to open up your rear hatch without removing the bikes or rack.

If you'd like to add a trailer hitch then I recommend checking out the etrailer Hitch Receiver # e98843 which gives you a 2" receiver and has a durable matte black finish. Then for a bike rack you can use the Kuat Beta # B202-2 for a hanging style rack, or the RockyMounts WestSlope # RKY10222 for a platform style rack. I prefer the platform style because it's easier to load bikes on and you can tilt the rack away for easy hatch access.
