Approved for use on cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and motorhomes - not approved for fifth wheels, travel trailers, or flat-towed vehicles

The Sport Rider SE2 platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 fat tire electric bikes on the rear of your vehicle. This bolstered steel rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and heavy-duty wheel holders with welded gussets to reinforce the rack so that it can handle the extra weight and size of your fat tire electric bikes. A locking hitch pin with an anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the receiver.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

hooks

Constructed of rugged steel with a sleek black powder coat finish, the Sport Rider SE2 uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting hooks are easily adjusted along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The push buttons allow the hooks to slide up the ratcheting system to allow for bike removal. The lock cores keep the hooks from being moved up or down on the mast to deter theft. The hooks are different sizes and each one functions independently, meaning the rack can carry 2 bikes of the same or different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Holders

fat tire Wheel Holders

The wheel holders are wider than standard cradles and will hold tires up to 5" wide. These holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60", and you can adjust the wheel hoops by sliding them along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with hand knobs. Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps secure your bike's wheels to the holders.

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting design

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

folding design

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

The Sport Rider SE2 easily installs in your hitch with the included locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver and insert the hitch pin. The frame hook locks and the hitch lock are conveniently keyed alike.

1450E Anti-Wobble

An integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the base unit tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the receiver. You don't need to pull out a wrench every time you install the rack on your hitch - just turn the easy-to-access handle to keep the rack from rattling. A second lever secures the two-bike extension to the base of the rack.

The included 8' long cable attaches to the hitch pin to help secure the bikes to Sport Rider rack.

Video Transcript for Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Fat Bike Rack Review

Collin: Hey, everyone. I'm Collin here at etrailer. Today we're going to take a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Two Fat Electric Bike Rack. This bike rack was designed to be able to handle both the weight and tire width of an electric fat tire bike. Now, because we don't have one of those in studio, we do have an E-bike right here, and then also a fat tire bike right here just to show you it'll handle the width of our fat tire bike and the weight from our E-bike.Obviously, a fat tire E-bike is going to weigh a little bit more than your standard fat tire bike, or even your standard E-bike, but if you do have one of those fat tire E-bikes, as long as it weighs under 80 pounds without the battery installed, you're going to be able to haul it on this rack. Hollywood Racks does recommend removing that battery during transport, and just stowing it in your vehicle. The maximum tire width for our bike rack is going to be 5" for your fat tire E-bikes. As you can see over here with our standard E-bike, the tire is a lot smaller compared to the cradle, but there is nothing to worry about.

They just have a maximum width on their rating, no minimum. You have the hook and loop strap securing it as well as that frame hook pushing down, and making sure that it can't turn at all inside the cradle. It's also going to come with an eight foot cable lock, which you would just use all that length to wrap it around the frames of both of your bikes. And then, you would loop it through itself on this end. And then, it comes all the way down and actually locks onto your hitch pin using the same lock. For those times where you might need to access the trunk of your car when your bike rack is fully loaded, you will be able to tilt this away from your vehicle. However, like I said, those fat E-bikes can get a bit heavy, so if you have it fully loaded and you don't think you can handle it, don't be afraid to ask for that extra set of hands. All we're going to do is come and then first remove this safety snapper pin.

And then there is a pin on the right side of our rack. We're just going to push up a little bit, pull the pin, and then let it tilt away. From here, we can come to the hatch, and open it up. You can see the clearance we have with our vehicle right here. Depending on that handlebar spread, or where the pedals are set, it may be a little bit closer, or even farther away.

There is plenty of space to come in and grab any cargo, groceries, anything like that, that we might need to get. When tilting it up you want to make sure that you grab a hold of the bike rack, and never the bikes installed, so I'm just going to grab that mast in the middle and push up until it locks into place. Don't forget to replace that snapper pin. When you're putting the snapper pin in and taking it out, it might help out a little bit to raise up on the bike rack just to get it up and under. On the backside of our shank we're going to have the anti-wobble lever. And when you tighten this up that's going to be your anti-rattle bolt of sorts. It's going to take away the shake and play from our bike rack even when we're traveling at high speeds.

What it does is as you tighten it down, it pulls your hitch pin back into the hole making sure that it takes away that shake and play. One thing you do want to make sure of when tightening down your anti-wobble lever is that when you're finished with it you want it to be facing either the left, or the right. If you have it pointing up that could take away from your tilt away feature, so you may not be able to get full rear hatch access. And if you have it pointing down, that could take away from your ground clearance. It's going to make it a little bit easier to drag on the ground if you're going over speed bumps, or even up a curb into your driveway. Each bike is going to have three points of contact to the bike rack. At the top of each bike, we're going to have a padded frame hook. Now, this hook has a nice soft padding right here. It's going to help protect the frame of your bike from any type of scratches, or abrasions. It's putting downward force on top of your bike. It's just forcing it down into the trays making sure that it's secure. If you can see me shaking the bike, it's hardly moving at all.The other two points of contact are going to be these hook and loop straps. We have one for each wheel. How it installs is it comes over top of the tire like so, and they are extended to be able to accommodate for those fat tire bikes up to 5". Loops in right here on itself. You just pull up, get some tension on there, and then secure it. Again, there is going to be one on each wheel. With the bikes unloaded, we can take a closer look at the rack. Our cradles are going to be adjustable back and forth. You just come down to this hand knob that's on top. Once we loosen that up enough, we can actually slide it back and forth. That'll help accommodate bikes of different lengths, and just be able to get a wider variety of bikes on your rack. With any hitch mounted accessory, you are going to have added length to your vehicle. Now, we're going to give you a measurement from the face of your hitch to the outer most part of our rack when it's folded down like this. That's 27 1/2" added on to your hitch. Now, we can cut down on that space by forwarding this bike rack up towards the vehicle. The first thing we got to do is fold down this center support bar right here. There is a pin we have to remove right there. Then we fold it down and replace it. From here, we just come in and grab that same pin we used to tilt it away. Once we pull that, we can fold it up until we hear a lock in place. We'll measure again from the face of the hitch to the outermost part, which is going to be 16 1/4". That is a pretty big difference. That is something you want to keep in mind for any close quarter situations like if you want to park in your garage without removing your bike rack. The entire bike rack is going to have a sturdy steel construction with a black powder coat finish. That's going to help it resist rust and corrosion. It's also going to add to the looks of your vehicle, and just gives it that nice sleek look. We actually have a stop on the top of our shank right there. That helps you with lining up the hitch pin hole with the hitch pin hole on our bike rack.I'll go ahead and pull it out real quick, so we can take a look at it. We can see these slotted hitch pin holes they have that allow for maximum adjustability when it comes to inserting this bike rack. When we bring the pin through you can actually see that it has that full adjustability, so when you line it up with the hitch pin hole and begin to tighten the anti-wobble system, it begins to bring the hitch pin back until it's jammed inside the hitch pin hole. When inserting your hitch, you just get it into your 2" by 2" receiver. And then, you just push in until that stop is touching the face of your hitch. From there, everything is going to be lined up. We just insert our pin, tighten up our anti-wobble system, and put our lock on the other side as well. As we tighten this lever up, like I said, it's going to pull that hitch pin back and jam it inside the hitch pin hole, which is an effective way to take out that shake and play. When it comes to loading and unloading your bikes, I do want to share with you guys a little bit of a tip. Personally, this is what I would do. There is a Phillips head screw up top on the top of our mast right here. That's to help prevent the hooks from coming all the way off. Now, because that if you have an E-bike, or a fat E-bike those are going to be pretty heavy, and it could get difficult to maneuver those around under the hooks without hitting your vehicle, possibly damaging it.What I'm going to do is I'm going to take the screw out. Then I'm going to set it aside. You don't necessarily have to put it back in. It's not going to make your hooks fit any looser. From there, I can take my hooks all the way off. I'm going to set them to the side, and get my first bike loaded. We're also going to lower the center mast right here. We're not going to replace the pin. We're just going to leave it set like that. With all of that out of the way, we can just come from the back and get our bikes loaded without struggling at all. Once you get your bike in place, bring the center mast back up, and then we're going to grab the longer hook, and put that on. We're not going to get it tight yet. We're just going to get it, so it holds the frame of our bike in place like so. You see we still have some play right there. And then, go to the bottom of your mast and replace the pin. Now, we'll secure our hook and loop straps. And then at the top with your frame hook because it is still a bit loose when it's making contact with the frame of your bike we're just going to go one more click down. You don't want to over tighten these because then that could jam the button when you try to go unload your bikes. It could get stuck and just be a hassle. That's secure. We'll move on to the next one. Like I said, replacing the Phillips head screw is optional, but for demonstration purposes we're just going to go ahead and get it installed.Thank you all for watching. That's going to do it for our look at the Sport Rider SE Two Bike Rack for Electric Fat Tire Bikes from Hollywood Racks.

I received my Hollywood rack in good order. I live in Canada so having to return anything is a real hassle. I like dealing with etrailer because they do their own research on product quality and don't try to sell anything that won't work for me. I narrowed my search down to two racks and I chose the Hollywood for my 60# fat tire electric bike with 20" wheels. Once I cranked the handle, there was absolutely no wobble whatsoever.I mounted it onto my Kia Sorento with the Curt class III 2" hitch.(Also purchased from etrailer.) 633381

I needed a new bike carrier as my wife and I ordered new Rad Power electric bicycles. I have a different Hollywood bike rack that I carried our regular bikes around with for about 6 years and was quite happy with the quality and the value. This new rack arrived in less than a week and was packaged securely and easy to unpack. It is a much more heavy duty rack and I love that it came with a lock for the hitch pin. A lock for the hooks that hold the bikes to the rack and a long cable lock to wrap through the bikes and rack for more security. They are also all keyed the same so that is nice too. I am sure the locks could be defeated quite easily but they do add some security and will deter the honest crooks. Another nice feature is the mechanism that tightens up the hitch inside the receiver to minimize movement driving down the road. I folds up nicely too. I am very happy with my purchase and with customer service who spent time on the phone with me choosing this rack. The picture is of the back of my motor home with the rack folded up. 749440

Item was as expected. Works well. Quarter inch shy of being able to open Rrear door when fully tilted on Travato but thats the story with Travato regards hitch location. Did not like the extreme bounce on slightest bumps and thats with lightweight fat tire ebikes @ less than 50lb each. I dont think the RV model would be much better in regards to bounce, even with the 5thW shank. Added ratchet straps from top door hinges w/100% improvement of/no movement. 747157

well, finally! A fat bike compatible bike rack that has built in locks and a low mount so i don't have to kill myself lifting this heavy ass ebike 3 1/2 feet off the earth to hang it up on a rack! i got a cheap version of this one, for regular tires, at walmart on black friday... no locks & not fat bike compatible. 100$ we'll see how this compares... 737987

Really impressed. Replaced a sub quality brand. Lots of subtle engineering advantages noticeable while assembling to reduce rattle, wear and bulk. Made in Taiwan but engineered in US. Seems exceptionally solid. 69-lb Rad Rover in photos. 732857

I just received it late last night so I haven't taken it out of the box yet. However, I shopped on line and etrailer had the best price and beat out Rad Power Bikes (where we bought our bikes) and Hollywood Racks (the mfg. of the bike rack). Having dealt with etrailer for our RV it was an easy decision for me to come back here! 727315

Review from a similar Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 in Hitch Bike Racks

Bought this Hollywood Sport Rider SE2 for 2 electric bikes, which are heavier than regular bikes. I am very impressed with the quality built into this rack. This design is a heavy-duty bike rack built to house the tires/wheels of the bikes and then a vertical rod with hooks to keep the bikes upright. This design is easier for loading heavy bikes than the racks that support a bike’s top bar, which requires a long, heavy lift. This rack is also easy to attach to the 2” trailer hitch receiver on our 2017 Ford C-Max Energi. 732973

Review from a similar Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 in Hitch Bike Racks

We just purchased new electric bikes and are looking forward to riding them on the fabulous AZ terrain. The carrier was recommended to us by friends who are avid riders, and have a lot of experience moving their bikes. I want to comment on the incredible service of this company. I was not successful in tracking my package, so I called the company for assistance. Immediately, the representative said, I can help, no putting on hold, no delays looking for my account, but a swift, professional answer to my question in a friendly, positive manner. One of the better customer service experiences I have had in a long time.. THANK YOU! 732302

This trike carrier has good features. I like that it has a lock for the connection to the hitch. Also the cable lock to secure my trike to the carrier and eliminate any possibility of theft. My standard adult trike fits it nicely. The frame is heavy duty. 159665

  • Hollywood Racks Bike Rack for Two E-Bikes With Fat Tires for Rear of Trailer
We actually have the exact bike rack you need, although the reason some bike racks, such as the # HR1455Z-E are not rated for use behind trailers, fifth wheels or towed vehicles is because the suspension on those is not as forgiving; there is additional movement, increasing stress on the bike rack and potentially damaging it. That said, there is a perfect bike rack for a pair of e-bikes with fat tires that IS rated for use behind trailers, the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2...

The padded ratcheting hooks on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Fat Bike Rack # HR1455Z-E that you were looking at can slide up and down the length of the vertical mast, so they should be able to grab onto the frame of a step-thru bike like yours. With that being said if the step-thru is more dramatic than most you may just need to add an adapter bar like # HRBA-PRO to create a horizontal attachment point for a secure connection. In either case I think a better option...

Yes. The Hollywood Racks SE2 Electric Fat Bike Rack # HR1455Z-E can be expanded from a 2 bike rack to a 4 bike carrier using the 2 Bike Add-On for Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1475Z. I spoke with Hollywood Racks and the end cap/reflector on the #HR1455Z-E can be removed to make this work; they also mentioned that if possible, you'll want to remove the batteries on the E-bikes to keep weight down. When loading the bikes, you will want to make sure that the heaviest bikes are loaded...

  • What is the Minimum Tire Width Compatible with the Hollywood Racks Electric Fat Tire Bike Rack?
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack for Electric Fat Tire Bicycles - 2" Hitch - Tilting # HR1455Z-E won't be as stable for narrow bike tire widths but it can work. For more security, you would want to use the Replacement Standard Wheel Holders for Hollywood Racks Sport Rider E-Bike Rack - Qty 2 # HRSPRWH-HD for narrow width tires. These are compatible with tires up to 3 inches wide so that would be my recommendation for any tires under 3 inches.
