Question:
I am looking into finding a way to safely use a dual hitch adapter to bring my e-bikes and flat tow a vehicle behind my RV. I have a Newmar Bay Star Sport V8 with a towing capacity of 5k and tongue weight of 500lbs and I understand that some if not all adapters can reduce this by 50. I have a 65 and a 55 lb e-bike with the batteries removed for towing and will be towing an older Kia Soul with a blue ox baseplate and tow bar if it matters. I purchased the Hollywood Bike Rack from you guys a few years back part HLY64FR and have really been happy with it. Recently acquired a tow vehicle as well but still want to bring the bikes and use this awesome rack if possible. I am concerned about getting the right hitch for weight ratings, length of extension I believe there is a limit on this bike rack for warranty purposes?, clearance for tow vehicle, and ability to get the bikes onto the rack if it’s elevated too high, also clearance for scraping/dragging with tow hitch receiver if it’s too low while still getting the right height for the Kia Soul. Any help is greatly appreciated as there are lots of things to factor in/consider with this setup

Hey Jake,
You've definitely got a few things to consider, but I think we can find a good setup!
I'd recommend looking at the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters, which let you carry your Hollywood bike rack above your Blue Ox tow bar. The Hollywood Racks has an extension limit of 8", so any of these will work. They're available in several rise/drop sizes:
2-1/4" # RM-077-2
4" # RM-077-4
6" # RM-077-6
8" # RM-077-8
To determine the right size, measure from the ground to the center of your RV's receiver and then to the Kia's baseplate attachment points while both are on level ground. Your tow bar should be within 3" of level.
You're correct that these adapters reduce your 500-lb tongue weight capacity to 250 lbs. Your bikes, rack, and estimated adapter weight total around 204–214 lbs, leaving a little room for additional vertical load. Flat towing your Kia adds very little tongue weight, although its weight still counts toward your 5,000-lb towing capacity.
Another option is the Gen-Y Stacked Receiver # 325-GH-304, which doesn't have the same automatic 50% reduction. But I like the Roadmaster more due to the ease of use with dual adapters instead of stacked.
Have you measured the height difference between your RV's receiver and Kia's baseplate yet?

I own RM-017-2. With the bike rack in the upper slot and sleeve with ball in lower slot, I was unable to put hitch (wen other end is attached to car) onto ball. I had to remove hitch from car and and rest it on the ground. While raising hitch at an angle the hitch could be attached to ball. Then raise end and attach to car. once done attach safety cables and electrical. No problems after that.
