Solution for Extensions Not Fitting Hitch on 2024 Ineos Grenadier
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/18/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2024 Ineos Grenadier with a factory setup to accommodate a trailer hitch. It came with a ball hitch too. I need to utilize an extension to accommodate a bike rack. Problem is that common extensions and common hitches are slightly larger than will fit. Any solutions?

Hi Andy; what exactly do you mean by common extensions are slightly larger than will fit? Based on the vehicle I would assume it would have a 2" receiver on the hitch. Do 2" accessories not slide in correctly? If that is the case, even the shank from a bike rack would not fit.
If you could clarify that would be helpful. Industry standard receiver sizes are 1-1/4", 2", 2-1/2", and 3". If my thinking is correct, can you measure the receiver opening? It looks like these were recently imported to the US so perhaps they have a different receiver.

Hey Andy, were you able to measure the receiver opening on your Grenadier’s hitch? Once you have that size confirmed, it’ll be easier to see what extension or bike rack shank will fit correctly. Let me know what you find—I'm here if you need a hand narrowing it down.
