Why Would Trailer Hitch Install Cause Muffler Noise
Updated 09/08/2020 | Published 09/04/2020 >
Question:
Ive installed the hitch for my Lexus RX 450h and now the muffler seems to rub against the hitch bar making my car sound like a muscle car. Any suggestions as to how to minimize this additional noise? Thank

Exhaust rattling against a trailer hitch is a common occurrence but it is easily fixed. Exhaust pipes and mufflers hang on rubber isolators. The hangers can usually be manipulated to gain more clearance between the exhaust and the hitch. I have included a link below that covers the different fixes for this problem.
