This Curt trailer hitch receiver gives you dependable towing power for everyday use. With a 6,000-lb gross trailer weight rating and 750-lb tongue weight capacity (7,500 lbs GTW and 750 lbs TW when used with weight distribution), it’s strong enough for hauling small campers, boats, or utility trailers. Product is rock solid, fitment is great, ordering was easy, shipping time was correct. Downsides, packaging was pretty much destroyed and the excellent finish was chipped and or rubbed off some of the edges and corners. I decided or just install it anyway, consoling myself that I have a working vehicle and that no one would likely notice minor damage up underneath
The hole on the driver's side did not line up with the grounding stud and the hole on the passenger side did not line up with the mechanism for lowering the spare tire.

Hi Robert, because of their size and shape, sometimes the trailer hitches get flexed during transport to you. I'll link an article below that describes how to fix this. Please let me know how it works for you.

Ram Promaster 1500 Perfect fit excellent welds and design. Take your time installing it. It is a tight fit but worth it in the end. Paint and welds are like new after towing 5,000 lb. trailer.I bought another brand before this one and sent it back due to lack of quality. I built my van into a high end camper and wanted the best components for the build. I am a yacht builder from Maine.

Arrived fast, great packaging, instructions clear. Although it took this 77 year old “a little longer” than expected. Very good hitch.

Had to grind a ground nut off the chassis. Other than that a great fit
The hitch is solid. The paint was damaged from shipment, due to it was only wrapped in two pieces of paper and some plastic,that did not protect it. Was not in a box. No worries buying a hitch for over $[XX], you just go buy some paint too. the instructions still do not tell you to remove the ground stud... but you have to, which means, go buy some primer. I tried to install it and was oh so close, but that big hole they made for the stud.... useless, the hole was not even close to being in the correct position and would not allow the hitch to move forward to get the all the bolt holes to align. I cut off the stud, and it went into position just fine. Then I painted the bare metal from cutting off the stud, and the bare metal on the hitch. they should change the instructions to say cut off the ground stud, first.
Delivery date stated was off buy one day, not a big deal, I just planed my day for it, then the day it actually did arrive I spent the day wrestling with it, and painting. Over all, it is a solid hitch, I hope no-one rear ends me, this Van will be totaled, but the hitch will be ok. Minus one star for .... partly their fault, partly yours. but not too bad, considering it was free shipping. FYI, I rarely get any big items from UPS that does not have some damage, it is just the way it is these days. I would buy Curt again, and I would buy from ETrailer again. This review was about as honest as I could make it. Hope it helps.

Im disappointed the way it got delivered. Haven’t opened yet but it looks like it was drag on the floor. Only reason for 3 start is that still might be ok to install as I need it soon, but I’ll have to paint the exposed metal to avoid rusting. Not happy
Product is great and you can do it yourself but will need to grind the ground bolt they mention to be on the way on the passenger side.
Received the wrong hardware, and we are still awaiting the correct items to install.

This bad boy fit in my 2014 ram promaster2500! Took me a while but I got it done. By myself. I used jacks to lift it up! I followed the YouTube video.
When installing this hitch on a 2016 Ram Promaster.. you must ABSOLUTELY set the Drivers side first.. trust me.. I didn't and had to basically start over...
The Hitch is amazing and fairly EZ to install but... it is a 2 person job..

Well made hitch. Everything lined up. The van does have a ground stud that is unused and makes installation more difficult that it has to be. You can choose how to handle that but I broke mine off with a couple wiggles. Spare tire mechanism lined up fine.
Easy to install if you follow the directions. We did receive one wrong bolt in the kit which etrailer took care of immediately. A little tricky fishing the bolts and plates in place. Make sure you get your whole rack up and above the leaf springs before trying to bolt anything on. Took us about 2 hours. LOL I could do it in under half an hour if I had to do it again. There was another rack we saw etrailer for the Promaster which required removing your bumper and had less capacity. I am so glad we bought this hitch.
The hitch has worked wonderfully on our Promaster during the last year and I'd highly recommend it and etrailer!

Great! No issues. Its perfect.
Great product, and a much easier install than we expected. This is a big upgrade and much more secure compared to the factory hitch we took off our van. A few notes on install:
- We did not have to alter or grind down any bolts or spare tire parts, as some people mentioned.
- We initially missed putting in the spacer on the passenger side (the video only very briefly mentions this, so pay attention to that part).
- We also stripped one of the nuts when torquing and had to get a replacement locally, so pay attention to that when doing install.
Otherwise, very pleased with this; its a high quality product and arrived in great shape!
Absolutely fantastic product. The only item that is not covered in the installation manual is that there is a grounding lug that has to be cut off of the drivers side to get this installed. Other than that, great and easy product to install. I did this as a solo installer.

Really well built rack! Mine arrived intact wrapped in multiple layers of plastic sheet and only a couple corners on protruding edges were scraped. What type of paint is good for touch ups before it rusts?
I had it installed as I don’t have a good level work area or a torque wrench. It took the U-HAUL guy about 30 minutes or less, after he ground off the offending Promaster bolt.
The trailer hitch itself is very well made.
Instructions need to detail that a bolt on the drivers side needs to be removed
I tried for 30 minutes to try and wiggle the assembly up into position and utilize to opening for the bolt. Finally used a grinder with cutoff wheel and removed the bolt from the frame and then it fit fine.
Instruction on how to install the bolt in the back is a little cryptic.
I have performed it a few times so i was understanding however someone who has never done it before will be struggling.
The kit also had one of the nuts the wrong size.
