Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And we're taking quick look at the Go Power! RV remote battery monitor kit. This allows you to see what's going on with your batteries. So it will be really handy for motor homes or any other kind of camper, where you have house batteries that you want to be able to check on, the state of charge, the voltage, power draw, all that kind of stuff without having to get into that battery compartment. Test everything out yourself can be kind of cumbersome it can be time consuming and you can also not really get a good feel of what's going on by testing just 'cause it can be kind of difficult to do.
Especially to just get access in there. So by having a remote display much easier to see what's happening and much easier to know specifically what's going on. So a very handy thing to have. It's going to give you plenty of links to connect from your battery to wherever you want to mount this inside your RV. And it comes to the other stuff you see laid out here on the table.
So let's talk a little bit more about what you get and how to install it. So again 25 foot cable to go between the monitor and the shunt. This is just going to be basically like a fuse or it's an overload protection for your battery and the system. This is rated at 500 amps, and it comes with a wire to go to the positive side of your battery. So this red wire will go into the little green part up top and then connects to the positive terminal on your battery.
So you want to mount this as close to your batteries you can and then this is going to be mounted wherever you want inside your RV. Should be pretty simple other than that. The only thing that doesn't come with it would be wire for the negative side to connect to this so that will have to be provided on your own. The input wire from your battery is not included. This will mount flush into the wall so you do have to cut out a hole to allow this to fit.
And I'll give you some measurements of that cut out size. So side to side it's about I'm gonna say three and 11 sixteenths. And then about one. or excuse me, two and an eighth and again that's for the cut out size. And it's about, so just about nine sixteenths of an inch deep. The actual size of the outside housing is about three and seven eighths by about two and three eights and overall about three quarters of an inch thick. Again it is a digital display so it makes it much easier to read what's going on. Cycle through things, make sure that everything is charging properly and all that good stuff. That's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the GO Power! RV battery monitor kit. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you. Works with 12V and 24V systems.I ordered this battery monitor from etrailer because it was twice as expensive at a local Go Power dealer. The delivery was quick. I don't know a lot about electrical work, but was able to install this myself quite easily after reading the instructions. I just installed it yesterday, but so far it's working perfectly with my LiFePO4 battery!
You will need to buy some extra parts to install this battery monitor: 2 ring terminals of the right size and gauge for your setup and if you don't want to cut your existing negative wire from your battery, you'll also need a short amount of the correct gauge of wire. I purchased these for only a few dollars at an auto parts store.
The monitor is just what we needed. And, I will say that GoPower is one of the best most responsive companies that I have worked with. Very quick and patient to make sure you are satisfied with their products.
The order was delivered as promised. Will say the order taker was professional, and knew the product. I can only hope the Battery Monitor will perform as well.

After a year of using the battery monitor its still working great! I just plugged in my LiFePO4 battery after its winter storage and the monitor picked up the battery life without the need to reset it.
