Recommended 7-Way Connector and Hitch for a 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500 Van w/out a Factory Tow Package

Question:

Good Morning, My company recently acquired a 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500 Van. They want a hitch installed. The van is not equipped with a factory tow package. I plan on using a Curt 13207 hitch and a Hopkins HM75MV plug. Our current trailer has a 7-Pin round plug on it. Im looking for a plug and play harness for ease of installation. I will NOT need trailer brakes. What do you recommend for connecting the truck to the trailer for light use only ? Thanks

Hey Chris! Since you do not have the factory tow package on your 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500 van, your options are going to be pretty limited on 7-way wiring harnesses. You're going to have to use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter item # 22112. This harness does plug into your ProMaster's existing wiring in the rear cargo area. You will have to run an additional power wire up to the battery though.

I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get it set up.

The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13207 is custom fit for your 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500 van. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight.

If you have any additional questions feel free to throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to help you.

Hey Chris, did the Tekonsha wiring harness work out for connecting your Ram ProMaster to your trailer? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking for similar solutions.
