Question:

Hello, I am looking for a hitch for my 2023 Ram Promaster 2500 HR 159. I see the draw Tite is the only class 4 hitch as the Curt is a class 3. Also, looks that maybe the Draw tite is harder install? I have no spare tire in the bay. I am looking for easy install, clean concealed look and high tow rating. Which would you recommend? Also, I will need wiring at a later date. I do have a Tow Haul button on my dash. Need 7 way. TIA~

Hello James,

I am at a loss why Draw-Tite # 75882 classified theirs as a class 4, it can handle the same weight as the Curt # C13207. The most concealed hitch would be the Curt # C13295, but it has the lowest towing weight so I am crossing that one off the list. I would go with the Curt # C13207. It is going to be the easiest to install and has the same weight ratings as the Draw-Tite # 75882. I attached installed pictures of the 2 different hitches, it looks like the Curt # C13207 sits just a smidge higher than the Draw-Tite too.

For the wiring for your 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500 you will need the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # 22112, this wiring kit will get your ProMaster ready for a brake controller.

The Tow/Haul button on your 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500 tweaks how the transmission behaves to make driving smoother and safer when you're towing or hauling a heavy load. If you are looking for a great brake controller I would go with Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90195, this part number will come with the vehicle specific pigtail for an easy install. You do not have the brake controller connector in the ProMaster right now but after you install the # 22112 it will be there.

Lastly, if you are looking for a ball mount I would go with the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs # 989900, this will give you a 2" and a 2 5/16" ball so you will be able to hook up to any trailer. Hitch pins and clips are included as well and there is even a bag so you can keep all the pieces together.
