Get More Out of Everyday Hauling: Class II Strength for Light Towing

This hitch handles the kind of jobs most folks need without overdoing it. With a 3,500-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 350-lb tongue weight, it’s ready for towing a small camper, boat, or utility trailer. The 1-1/4" receiver opening works perfectly for accessories made for Class II setups, like bike racks or cargo carriers. It’s a solid match for anyone who wants dependable hauling strength without stepping up to heavy-duty gear.

Built to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Protective Powder Coat

The square-tube frame is fully welded and finished with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base layer. That finish holds up against rust and road grime while keeping a clean look even after long use. The sturdy steel design gives you confidence that your hitch will stay strong through repeated towing and everyday exposure to the elements.

Simple to Install Yourself: Bolt-On Fit with Included Hardware

You don’t need welding or fabrication tools to get this hitch on your vehicle. It’s built for bolt-on installation and comes with a complete hardware kit and clear instructions. The precision robotic welding ensures the mounting points line up right where they should, so everything fits smoothly and saves time in the driveway.

Clean Look When Installed: Concealed Cross Tube Design

The concealed cross tube keeps most of the hitch tucked up and out of sight, giving you a cleaner look once mounted. The receiver sits flush and doesn’t hang low, so you maintain ground clearance while keeping that factory-style appearance from the rear.

The hitch and wiring kit installed wonderfully, it fits great and does the intended job perfectly, this makes my 2011 Chevy Equinox a good looking vehicle... I WILL BUY MY FUTURE PRODUCT NEEDS FROM ETRAILER.COM AS LONG AS THEY HAVE IT. The price, delivery, follow-up, online videos, and shipping information was the BEST service I have ever had...

The Curt trailer hitch installed easily with no problems. It looks great and tows my trailer with ease. Great product!

by:

Delivery was great. Parts fit like they were supposed to. Relatively easy installation. It helps to have a floor jack to hold it in place.

The two bolts in the center which are located just above the center of the hitch are blocked somewhat by the rear fascia. Also, be careful taking out the piece of rear facia which has to come out before the hitch can be installed. If you pull too hard, the tabs will break. Use a screwdriver from below and inside the fascia to spread the snap in fastener so you don't break them in case you want to reinstall the fascia cover.

No problems here, just thoughts on the installation details.

by:

Excellent! Service, delivery, and the product were all as promised or better. Installation was very straightforward with no surprises. The parts fit perfectly and the finished installation looks completely professional. I also bought a bike rack from etrailer which will enable my wife to easily load her bike without any disassembly which will be much better for her than loading it into the car. The only thing that is not as good as it should be is the fit between the 1 1/4" bike rack and the 1 1/4" hitch. If you have any suggestions as to how I can reduce the play in that fit, please let me know.

by:

The trailer hitch arrived in a timely manner and is of good quality. It took a little longer to install than was anticipated, but that's not the fault of Etrailer. I would order from then again.

by:

I installed the hitch today and it was fairly easy to complete. What I want to comment on is the excellent customer service. I received frequent emails telling me when the order was received, when it was shipped, and how to track delivery. The hitch also arrived at my home just a few days after I placed the order on-line, much quicker than I expected with free delivery. Nice job!

by:

Trailer hitch fit perfectly. Only two minor complaints. Instructions need to be updated...looks like they were printed a decade ago. Also, the piano wire tool included to fish the bolt and square plate through the box beam was too short. Had to splice additional wire to it so that it would reach to the end opening.

by:

Great Product Great Price. exactly as described. Item installed in less than an hour and that included wiring the lighting harness. Would of installed in less time if I WOULD OF HAD A HYDRAULIC JACK THAT WORKED. This HITCH IS BETTER THAN THE FACTORY HITCH FOR OUR 2011 EQUINOX.. Saved a lot by purchasing from etrailer. I am certainly going to buy more products from etrailer.

by:

The hitch was a perfect fit, that being said, now the installation process not so much. The "fish tape" wire used to pull the bolt and spacer into and across the frame tube was about 12 inches too short to actually work. I needed to attach a 12 inch piece of wire and then it was just long enough to do its job. bolt and spacer were a little difficult to get into place, but once they were, everything bolted down just fine. Hitch ended up level, and centered without any adjusting. Tucked up nice and tight under the bumper of our 2015 Equinox. we are very happy with our purchase!

by:

I was pleasantly surprised as to how easy the installation was. The video I had watched before purchasing the hitch and wiring was right on. I installed the hitch in about 25 minutes. At the time i installed the hitch I had no help so I had to install the hitch myself. I used my floor jack to raise the hitch into place and attached the two center bolts to hold it in place while installing the side bolts. Even doing it alone was simple. The wiring was even easier. The only minor negative comment I would have was the tie wraps could have been longer. A longer set would allow them to be installed even around the hitch itself. The supplied ones were to short. No big deal. Overall I was completely satisfied and will return to this site if I need other products you offer.

by:

Trailer hitch quality and instructions are excellent! Everything was delivered promptly and undamaged.

The only issue I had was with my vehicle. Cleaning out the factory threaded mounts was trouble. Some were so rusted that I had to drill and tap them bigger. Another mount was welded off center at the factory.

This has NOTHING to do with etrailer or the hitch. It's my vehicle's issue.

by:

Good experience with this company. The price was good, the hitch came within a few days, and everything that I might possibly need for install was included.
I use my hitch solely for the purpose of holding my Yakima bike rack. The bike rack is seldom removed so my interaction with the hitch is limited but the main reason that I bought the hitch from these folks was the price and convenience.

by:

I haven't installed the hitch yet but I'm more than pleased with the service shipping and quality of the product and would without hesitation recommend you guys to everyone I know

Super easy to install. Unfortunately - buyers remorse - I wish I'd bought a 2" class 3 hitch for the extra robustness for current and future needs...so this is advice to prospective buyers...get the larger class 3 if that is an option for your vehicle. I wish I had gotten feedback from etrailer to this effect. Is there any customer service option to buy up/trade up to a class 3? hitch?
Thanks in advance...

Great looking hitch, perfect price and fast shipping!!! I hope to purchase again fro etrailer.com!!!!!

After 1 year, the hitch is looks like new, no rust. It has performed perfectly every time we use it.

Fit was perfect! Instillation was very easy. Only thing I had to do was retap the holes. Highly recommend.

Curt trailer hitch for chevy equinox and support straps for thule bicycle rack.

I love the trailer hitch. It was perfect for my car. I got the 1 1/4 inch mount b/c that was recommended for theThule bicycle rack I ordered without having to install an adaptor. I had my garage install it onto the car, which was a good idea, because there was ruxt underneath and they had to clean the bottom of the car to find the right place to mount it. So if I had tried to do it at home, it would have been problematic.
The strap is great, as it keeps the bike rack from moving at at all during transport, even at high speeds - higway driving etc. I would highly recommend these products and etrailer products and service. I found the site to be very easy to navigate, the materials and specs very clear, and I loved that they even included videos and brochures on how to install, which made things very easy when used in conjunction with the directions. I even brought the brochure to my mechanic, in case he needed it!

by:

Just found time to get the hitch installed by my son-in-law...took less then an hour. Amazing how everything just fit right in, no holes to drill...just follow the simple instructions. Great product with "no swet" installation. Thanks!!

Its a GREAT product and everything is just fine.

by:

Good price, shipped quickly. Fit perfectly. Only issue is the bolt leaders (fishwires) were too short. Need to be about twice as long. Vehicle (2013 Equinox) did not have any frame access holes large enough so had to fish the bolts from the end of the frame rail. Had to make up some extensions which were a bit hard to attach since the bolt leaders wire was so springy. Once I got past that every thing was great. Total install time less than an hour.

Hitch has been working great. No problems what so ever.

by:

THIS HITCH WENT ON WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AFTER I INSTALLED THE CENTER BOLTS AND PLATES. THE PROBLEM WAS THE CHANNEL WAS NOT A SMOOTH OPENING ALL THE WAY, AND THE BOLT AND PLATE WERE GETTING HOOKED ON SOMETHING. I HAD TO WORK THE INST. TOOL BACK AND FOURTH TO BYPASS IT. AFTER THAT EVERYTHING WENT TOGETHER FAST. THE SERVICE FROM E-TRAILER WAS EXCELLENT AND THE TIME QUOTED OF 1 DAY DELIVERY WAS LESS.

I have had no problems at all. I like the look of the hitch and the way it fits up under chassis. Pulling loads of 1000 lbs. is not a problem.

by:

purchased for my daughter's Equinox, along with factory hitch setup. This was plug and use right into a factory wire harness hook up. Tucks away under spare tire so it doesn't remain exposed except when in use. Great purchase.

They have used it several times to haul dive equipment in trailer and it works very well. No sign of any wear or rusting on metal coated paint.

by:

The hitch is very nice but I think the quality inspectors at Curt need to re-check their weld fixture. My installation was on a 2017 Equinox. I cleaned up the threads on the frame weld-nuts with penetrating oil, a wire brush, and a tap. The bolts went in easily by hand so I thought the actual install would be a piece of cake. Not so. The side flanges on the hitch did not come even close to fitting the frame of my vehicle. They were at least .06 to narrow. I ended up having to use a floor jack, rubber mallet, and a 5' pry bar, along with my son's help and about two hours of effort we got it done.

The fishing wire was about 1' too short, but I added a length to it and it worked.
Overall I am happy but it was not easy.

When a trailer hitch is constructed, softer steel is used in the side plates as opposed to the harder steel used in the crossbar and receiver tube. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle to a certain degree. This flexibility can also allow the mounting flanges to get slightly bent out of position during shipping and handling. The good news is that its very easy to fix this if you know a few tricks as shown in the linked help article.

by:

Placed order on Saturday night, product arrived on Tuesday. Very satisfied with the quality product and the ease of install. I had it installed in about 30 minutes. It could have been shorter too, but I did it at night in my garage and had to scramble to find tools. I used my jack to get it in place, then fitted the bolts.

I would certainly recommend these folks to others or use them again for future purchases.

by:

Order placed Fri AM, rec'd product Mon AM.
Installation went as simple as indicated - couldn't have been easier unless someone else installed it for me. Will definitely use these folks again - super easy to deal with. Thanks for the great product and service.

by:

The hitch seems to work very well, though I only installed it for a bike rack.

The installation process was a bit complicated only because the fish-wire that came with the setup was too short. I had to improvise with a coat hanger to extend the fish-wire. Check out etrailer.com's YouTube video for installation ideas. Finally, if you notice I have a redline series Saturn Vue, which requires some fascia trimming. I was able to trim the fascia with a box cutter.

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2005 Saturn Vue
If the goal is to tow a trailer with your 2005 Saturn Vue I have a better setup for you to consider. For a trailer hitch the etrailer part # e98865 has great capacities and since it's a 2-inch hitch it will give you the best options for future accessories and ball mounts. For trailer wiring the Tekonsha brand is the most reliable so for your vehicle the best option would be the # 118418. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller....
