The Curt Class II Euro style ball mount/ball # C45552 that you referenced will fit in Class II hitch receiver # C12291 from Curt. This hitch is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Chevrolet Equinox.

Please note that your car can also be fitted with a larger 2-inch Class III hitch, either Curt # 13591 or etrailer # e98865. These 2-Inch hitches also offer better compatibility with hitch-mount accessories like bike and cargo carriers. With this Class III hitch you could use our ball mount kit # 989900. With either hitch you can use 4-pole wiring harness # 118494. An install video for the harness is also included.
