After doing some research for my 2018 Hyundai ioniq, I settled on this hitch. Great quality and build of the hitch. Very easy to install with two of us under the car. The only big downfall of the install is the cutting of the plastic underbody piece! I seen others that had issues and I also did myself. I ended up having to cut the piece about 6 different times because I did not want to cut to much off. I really really wish they would make a template for this and know exactly where to cut. I am not going to lower the rating due to this because the hitch itself is amazing and is everything I expected! Just be ready to spend a little extra time with that plastic piece to make it fit back in place.
I purchased both a hitch and a bike rack for my 2017 Hyundai Ioniq from etrailer.com. Highly recommended hitch! We got it a year ago to carry our bike rack and it's worked great. Easy to install, although I will admit I had it done for me. But the entire process only took about 20 min. Would definitely look for a similar product for my next vehicle is required.
I’ve owned this hitch for one year. Bought it for a little hybrid car that my son uses so he could trailer his bike. Installation was straight forward and simple to complete. Fit and finish is great and has held up well. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to buy another product from etrailer.
Watched the video on the installation and it was pretty easy. Had to take some of the plastic trim off the bottom of the car and cut it back… but it was shown in the video. has held up well over the past year. Use it to hold bike rack. Satisfied.
Not installed yet, but appears to be a rugged hitch. The last one was for our Prius and worked great. I anticipate that we will be as happy with the install on the Ioniq.
The price and quality of this hitch is excellent! Obviously we won’t be towing 36’ travel trailers with our Ioniqs, but it is perfect for luggage racks and bike racks. The hitch itself can easily support pulling a smaller trailer, but that is up to you and your Ioniq... I needed a bike rack to lug my bikes around and this was perfect for me.
I love how the hitch tucks under the car and isn’t noticeable. The installation video from Etrailer’s website is easy to understand and made installation a breeze.

I’ve wanted a hitch for my 2017 Hyundai Ioniq (hybrid, not all-electric—I don’t know that this hitch will work for the electric version) for a long time now but put off ordering one due to the cost and perceived hassle. I am very glad I found etrailer.com and finally bit the bullet. Installation went exactly like the etrailer.com installation video and was a breeze. It seems quite sturdy, looks unobtrusive when installed, and provides plenty of clearance for my bike rack to attach away from the bumper. I really couldn’t be happier with it.
Although I had no issues with delivery and had no reason to contact customer service, I appreciated the emails I received from etrailer.com staff providing me status updates and helpful information. The communications felt personable and gave me the impression that if I had needed help, they would have been glad to assist me.
After many positive reviews, I ordered this hitch receiver for my 2020 Hyundai Ionic Hybrid. Upon receiving the shipment via UPS, there were holes in the bottom corners of the shipping box (both mounting flanges were sticking out of the box), along with the stapled cardboard inserts separated from within the box, too. I thought nothing of it. However, when I attempted to mount it to the car frame the following day, it wouldn't fit onto the frame rails of the vehicle. The passenger-side mounting plate is slightly bent inward which prevents it from sliding into place. It didn't matter where I placed the first bolt (driver or passenger side), the opposite mounting plate couldn't make it onto the car frame. I don't have the means to fix the bent mounting plate at my residence. Please advise my next steps in finding a solution to this issue. Thanking you in advance.

timely delivery and a good quality product, however it needed a minor modification with a grinder to seat properly.......this i believe should be addressed in design and production, but having said that if one is not able to make that minor modification one should not be the one installing a hitch. overall a great product

The hitch went in pretty straight forward with the exception of cutting out the plastic underbody molding so it would still fit back into place over the hitch. The picture in the direction sheet doesn't really show anything helpful at all. I got it to go back on after multiple trial and error of what to cut off of the molding piece and still get a close fit. Overall I like the hitch and the way it looks. I also ordered the ball hitch for the receiver and was surprised it didn't come with the pin to lock it in place into the receiver.

Easy and straight forward installation on both the hitch and wiring harness. It would be a nice to send a little paper template to mark the cutout on the underside panel. It wasn't hard to do but it took several cuts to get the cut to fit properly, taking a little at a time.

Great! I was able to pull a small trailer from texas to Chicago without issue last fall. The hitch worked as expected, more surprisingly the car handled the trailer like a champ.
On the verge of perfect, with 2 small suggestions that others may benefit from:
1) You may need a rubber mallet. The fit on my frame was so tight and snug (width of the hitch between the plates) that it wouldn't go on easily. It fit, but I had to tap it little by little with a rubber mallet to get it into place.
2) The diagram to trim the driver's side under panel is fair at best. Yes, it gives a general idea of what to trim but it is too small and underdetailed. Ultimately you may need to hold it up yourself and trim, try to fit, trim again, until you get it right. A more accurate diagram would be helpful. Also, the diagram seems to imply you need to cut off more than you need to. I was able to keep all the screw holes intact. Also, if you really want a tight fit, you could technically but a "hole" in the panel in the right shape, then fit it over the plate before installation, which would allow all the edges of the panel to remain intact and minimize cutting. I wish I would have thought of that beforehand, but it's not bad or even negative really, just something that could be improved.

After a year things are working as well as one can expect. Have used the hitch consistently with a dual bike-rack, short trips and very long trips multiple days of highway driving and no issues at all. Everything still fits nice and snug, secure, and quiet. When I was last under the car putting the rack on I didnt notice any corrosion or signs of wear.
The hardest part of the installation was getting my 68 year old body back up off the shop floor
perfect fit!!
After leveling the truck and installing long travel leaf springs, the rear had a lot of sag when towing. This reduced rear end squat and improved ride quality, did exactly what I needed. No problems with build quality or durability so far, great value.
Super easy install. Little trimming of the plastic fender liner and bam. There is more trimming to do on the liner than the install paperwork suggested. The install video gives a good visual. I did install the liner piece that the video suggested to discard as it already has the bolt hole and accompanying nut. Took a pic of the tools needed to install. I used the WD-40 to clean and flush out the bolt holes.
The whole process with etrailer was super easy, from ordering to installing. The Curt hitch took maybe 20 minutes to put on, it looks great, and does its job well. Free shipping is always a plus too.
Easy to install. The photos of the part that needs to be modified are too dark to see. I went on to the Curt website and watched the video. That made it understandable.
The hitch fit perfectly,and the wiring harness did as well. Couldn't ask for more. Will be a customer again when the need arises.
