Splices into your lower radiator hose to circulate warm coolant through your radiator in the winter. Allows easier start-ups and prevents frozen hoses. Once the engine is on, warm coolant cycles through the heater core to heat your cab faster.

Notes:
Start your engine easier and warm your cab faster in cold weather with this lower radiator hose heater. Heating your engine coolant keeps it from thickening and freezing, resulting in more reliable start-ups and smoother operation altogether. It also lessens the workload and extends the life of your vehicle's battery. And because starting your engine when it's warm creates less condensation in the engine block than starting it when it's cold, your engine will get better initial fuel vaporization, which causes fewer emissions and less pollution.
This heater splices into your lower radiator hose to heat your coolant. The heated coolant pushes the cold coolant through the radiator and thermosiphons it back to the heater. The heater's internal thermostat automatically shuts the heater off at 270 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the coolant at an optimal temperature, which allows the heater to operate safely overnight to ensure that no hoses freeze while your vehicle sits. Once you turn the ignition in the morning, your vehicle's water pump will cycle the heated coolant through the engine block and heater core. This will allow for a smooth startup, and it will also help your cab to heat and defrost faster.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at our Kat's Heaters lower radiation hose heater for 1 3/4 inch hoses. Now folks, this is actually a custom fit application. It's gotta fit a lot of different Ford vans, trucks, Expeditions, Explorers, and even some Dodge Durangos. So please make sure you're double checking our fit guide here at etrailer.com on our homepage to make sure you're getting the right parts for your specific fit.
Now, a lower radiator hose heater like this basically is gonna prevent your radiator in cold temperatures, or gonna preheat rather your radiator in cold temperatures preventing it from freezing up. It's gonna heat the coolant and circulate that warm coolant as well. So it goes over your radiator hose and then you got two radiator hose clamps to help clamp it in place over that. You've got a simple 120 volt AC outlet here, extension cord. It's a three-prong, very standard, that's gonna go through your grill and then plug into your extension cord and those kind of things.
This cord, there is a sticker here that says do not remove, it is serviceable, meaning you can replace just this cord by itself. It simply unplugs, but the manufacturer wants you to keep it plugged in as best as possible. So they put this sticker and kind of tape combo here just to remind you to keep that plugged in, you know, as much as you can, so. That cord is replaceable if you need one in the future for whatever reason. Now, this uses a thermal siphon that's gonna ensure the warm coolant continues to circulate, and it's gonna allow the cab to heat up and defrost faster.
It's gonna give you assistance with smoother startups in cold temperatures. The internal thermostat here shuts off automatically at 270 degrees Fahrenheit, so that's gonna make sure that it has safe operation overnight when you're sleeping and it's running. It's made of die cast aluminum, it's impact and corrosion-resistant, and it's gonna maintain its strength in high heat. Folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven.
Thanks for watching.

I finally got the block heater installed instead of the in line one and its much better with the heating process, so just removed the in line one and would like sell it or give it to someone who it would work better for. Guess with it being a 350 engine and a large radiatior for a high performance car it just wasnt enough to keep it warm enough for the short ride to work. Really isnt that cold around here and the block heater seems to work better.
