I use these for attaching assorted implements and brackets to my garden tractors. They fit the factory holes in the frame perfectly and are easy to engage and disengage and have proven very durable so far.

These locks are a great addition to any trailer. They are strong enough to hold any gate, but can be released and locked open easily. THESE ARE THE ANSWER FOR GATE LOCKS!!

shopping for other parts and was excited to find this version of a spring latch that was more compact, yet more heavy duty than similar latches and CHEAPER. It couldn't be more perfect for my application. Service, order submission, order processing and shipping was very prompt and professional. Parts were better quiality than I'd expected at this price. The enitre process was a very pleasant one and I've added a link to etrailer in my favorites so that I can become a return customer. Other companies could take a lesson from etrailer.

I've put these on two trailers, one for a golf cart and another for motorcycles and quads. This is a great solution for retaining a hinged ramp in the "up" position while in transit. very strong and well made.

I have a 6x10 trailer w ramp gate that on of the catch latches broke. Although its a simple metal latch, the one i ordered from another site when it came was a universal joint w a sticker in the bag that said spring trailer latch. The product ordered from etrailer was shipped and delivered sooner than expected, even during Christmas holidays. The product is exactly as I expected.

These spring pins are excellent! I used them to pin sliding outriggers and on a receiver vise mount. Great alternative to loose pins that will get lost. I’ll definitely purchase these again because of the quality and customer service!

I had ordered some parts online to rebuild the suspension on one of our trailers. Customer service called me a short time later to inform me that they were out of stock on some items, they asked if it was possible to substitute some items. Welding Latch Pin Installation for Securing Trailer Ramp
I attached a picture that shows how the # SL58W will install on a trailer with a ramp. I used arrows to point out the latches and the holes that it will fit into when folded up and latched. I also attached a picture that shows where you would weld the # SL58W to your trailer and where you would drill the hole in the ramp so that the pin would insert into it and secure it.

Availability of Heavy Duty Spring Latch With 3/4" Pin
We sure do! There are two different spring latches offered with a 3/4" diameter pin. The Paneloc Heavy Duty Spring Latch # F784-102Z which has a mounting bracket that measures 3" long x 1" wide x 1-1/2" tall, or the # 788-S-ZINC which has a mounting bracket that measures 4-1/8" long x 3" wide. Can a Spring Latch Pin be Used to Hold Trailer Ramps On a Trailer
The 7/16 inch diameter of the pin in the latch pin # SL716SS is on the small side for heavy car trailer ramps. It does not have an official capacity but if it were me I would do with something with a larger diameter. Spring latch # SL58W has a 5/8 inch pin. It and the 7/16 inch latch pin do not have weight ratings but they are meant for trailer doors which are not all that heavy. I recommend just using a hitch pin with clip, # PC3. The overall length of the pin in the Weld-On Zinc Spring Latch, item # SL58W, is 3-5/8 inches. The Square part is 1-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/4 inches tall by 2 inches long. There are cutouts in the 2 inch long sides that accept the roll pin to hold the latch open when the handle is twisted.

Recommended Weld-On Steel Spring Latch
The spring latch we have that is similar to # SL716SS is weld-on is the Weld-On Zinc Spring Latch # SL58W. The weld on surface is 2 inches long by 1-1/4 inches wide and the zinc coated pin extends 3/4 inch past the bracket. This is really the only spring latch we carry that isn't zinc plated or stainless steel. These should work well for your containers.

The Bolt-On Stainless Steel Spring Latch # SL716SS has an aluminum base and stainless steel pin. It will be difficult to weld aluminum and you don't want to weld it to steel. I recommend instead using the Weld-On Zinc Spring Latch # SL58W.
