Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this weld-on hinge. This is a nice heavy duty steel hinge that's gonna provide support along the length of your metal door or gate. It can also be used for your trailers, barbecue pits, electrical boxes, machinery doors, and lots of other applications, and your only limitation is really gonna be that it is a weld-on installation, so you have to use a metal surface, but having that weld-on is going to ensure that it's the strongest hold for a nice heavy duty permanent application. So our overall width for this hinge, if we do not include the grease fitting here, it is going to be right at 7 7/8, just shy of eight inches. If we do include that grease fitting, takes us up to about 8 1/4 of an inch long.
Our thickness is going to depend on how we measure it. We have this triangular shape here that's going to create these nice flat sides for us to get this welded on. So if we do include that triangle, we're right at 1 1/8 of an inch, just over one inch. If we rotate that out of the way, we're at just under an inch, about 7/8 of an inch thick. Because this is a nice steel construction, it is going to be very durable.
Our pin diameter here is 5/8 of an inch or about 16 millimeters. We do also have this corrosion resistant brass bushing, it's going to ensure a nice and smooth operation, and to further ensure that smooth movement, we are gonna have that brass fitting there that's going to allow us to hook up our grease gun, give it a squirt, and make sure that our hinge is gonna be well lubricated, so very easy to maintain and keep a nice smooth operation here. So if you are needing a just shy of eight inch long steel weld-on hinge, this is gonna be a great option for you, especially, with that grease Zerk there, making it so easy to keep maintained. Thank you for your quick response to my phone call. Yesterday I received
the hinges for the trailer. The claim from the USPS was that the package
was damaged during shipping. I find it odd since the so-call damaged parts
never arrived but I did receive the empty package the part was shipped in.
I guess they needed the part.

These hinge parts worked great for replacement of the old hinges.
Quality hinges I used on an aluminum gate. Weld on hinges work well and can be easily greased. As always fair price and quick shipping from etrailer.
nothing is perfect, but these did a great job of repairing the barn door on my dump trailer, wish this had been done when the previous owner tried to repair it. It's fine now.
