Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch - Mounting Brackets - 4907

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches. Now, these are universal mounting brackets that'll let you mount the trailer hitch cross tube to the frame of your heavy-duty or commercial vehicle. These brackets are required for installation of either the Draw-Tite class V service body hitch. Part number 41990 or part number 41991.

Both of those we do sell separately on our website. And I just wanted to show you the picture of there's what the cross tube looks like with the hitch receiver in the middle. Now, I did mention two part numbers. The difference in those two part numbers are just the length of the tube. One, it's 44 inches long.

The other is 66 inches long. And as I mentioned, we do carry both of those on our website. Now, these brackets are designed to install to the vehicle. They are either a weld-on, or you can see the holes for a bolt-on installation. And again, another insert just to show you what the cross tube looks like with these brackets installed.

Basically, the bracket right here has a square opening on it that'll slide onto each end of the hitch cross tube. And then you slide it along the tube and adjust it to fit the frame width that's needed for your application. And then it's welded onto the cross tube. And then after the brackets are welded on them, then you can either bolt on or weld on the brackets and cross tube to your vehicle's frame. Now, once these are installed, the center of the hitch receiver opening will be about seven inches from the top of the vehicle's frame rail.

Basically, when you install these brackets, this top here will be right at the top of the vehicle's frame rail and the hitch tube will be in here. So, if you measure from the top here down to the center, let me just show you, it should get you about seven inches. That's your seven inch drop. Now, these are a nice, black powder coat finish over an e-coat base to help resist corrosion. Has two plates, one for each side. Measurements on the plates themself, we measure the width from here to here. You can see it's gonna be right at nine inches wide. And the overall height from the very bottom of the plate to the top of the plate is about 9 1/2 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the seven inch mounting bracket kit for the Draw-Tite class V service body trailer hitches..

The square cut out is 3”x3” I was thinking 2x2, it was the only measurement left out in the details. Problem solved

Defiantly looks like a great product! I’m using it for more than just a trailer hitch, so hopefully it will work. But I can’t say enough for the help I got from the staff, especially Jamie B !

Great product. But even better Sevice from etrailer as usual. Always a great buying experience.

Just what I was looking for

1954 3100 Chevrolet. Ya just aren't going to get a hitch at Walmart for this truck. This is an awesome solution! Ya have to be able to weld but the end result is great! Thanks George!

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 1999 Ford E-450 Ambulance
Hey Parakesh, there aren't going to be any custom options but what you can do is use something like # 41990 which has a 16k capacity. This option would require it to be welded on and would also require either the 7" drop brackets # 4907 or the 16" brackets # 4916. If there is something else I can help you with, please feel free to let me know!

  • Recommended Hitch for Turtle Top Van Terra Built on 2000 E350
For what you are describing, I think the best option is to use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube, # 41990; this is a 2" receiver Class V hitch. this is to be welded in to place using either the 16" Weld-On Bracket Kit for Draw-Tite Class V Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch, # 4916 or, the 7" version, # 4907. This will provide you with a Class V hitch and multiple placement options best fit your needs. If I follow correctly your last statement of the...

  • Which Hitch Will Fit a 2004 E-350 Cab and Chassis with 14 Foot Box Truck Body
For a 2004 Ford E-350 Cab and Chassis the Draw-Tite # 41906 is a custom fit, but you will need to make sure that the bolt holes are 38-5/8 inches from frame to frame in order for it to fit your particular model. While this hitch is a custom fit for the E-350 cab and chassis, it's possible that your box truck body may not have that hole spacing on the frame so you will want to confirm this. I've linked an installation video that can be used as a rough guide, since we don't have any videos...

  • Is RV Trailer Hitch Available with 10,000 lb Weight Capacity
If you are looking for a trailer hitch to mount on your RV then the highest rated capacity is the Curt Trailer Hitches parts # C13702 and # C13701 which are both rated for a max of 6,000 lbs towing when a weight distribution (WD) system is used. These are the same hitch with the only difference being the 13701 has a 2" drop for the receiver. While we do not have a custom fit hitch for your Freightliner MT45 we do have several heavy duty weld-on hitches that could work for you. I have included a link to all of them for you. Based on your frame width you could use # 41990 which is 44 inches long. Then for brackets you could use 7 inch brackets # 4907 or 16 inch brackets # 4916. If the frame is an I-beam frame then the only option is # 13703. Weld-on hitches should only be installed by qualified professional welders. I have...
