Trailer Hitch to Fit Ambulance

Published 12/07/2016

Question:

Hello, I need a hitch that will bolt on an ambulance on a 2007 chevy express 3500 dually chassis. There was already a step bolted on the back and Im hoping you have a hitch with the same bolt pattern. The holes on the frame are 1/2inch and are slotted to 2inch so from side to side is 36 1/4inch on the inside and 40inch on the outside. The bolt hole spacings from front to back and center to center are 2inch , 3 1/2inch to a hole that goes over a bolt, 3 1/2inch and 2. So its bolt hole, bolt hole, ~1inch hole to go over a bolt, bolt hole and bolt hole. the overall length of the step mounting bracket is 12 7/8. I need it to be able to pull a 10,000 pound trailer, The higher class the better, and have a 2inch receiver opening. Thanks,

I might have a solution for you, but we don't have custom hitches for ambulances.

I spoke to my contacts at Curt and Reese and the only styles of hitches that can be made to fit a service body (ambulance) truck like yours are multi-fit RV hitches like the # 41990 that has a 16k capacity. This is a weld on hitch that would require either the 7 inch drop brackets part # 4907 or the 16 inch brackets part # 4916.
