  • Solution for Towing Trailer Level that is 6 Inches Higher Than Tow Vehicle
I do have a solution for you, however high-low adapters like the Roadmaster # RM-048-6 that you referenced are only designed for flat towing a vehicle. They are not suitable for towing a camper/trailer. To get the rise you need to tow your trailer level, you will instead want to look at a ball mount with around a 6 inch rise. I recommend taking a look at the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2793. This ball mount is compatible with 2 inch hitch receivers, features a 6-3/4 inch rise (or an 8 inch...

  • Where is Drop Dimension of Ball Mount 2793 Measured
The 6-3/4 inch rise of the Draw Tite Ball Mount part # 2793 that you referenced is measured from the top of the hitch opening up to the top of the ball mount platform.

  • Ball Mount to Use for 6 inch Drop When Using Curt Rockerball
The place to measure on your trailer for picking out correct rise/drop is actually from the bottom of the coupler lip. So since you measured from the top of where the ball fits into the coupler you'd need to subtract about 2 inches from that so you'd have 17 inches. So difference between 23 inches and 17 inches is 6 inches which means you'd need a drop of inches. So since you have a Curt Rockerball that adds 2 inches you'd need a 8 inch drop then. So for that you'd want the part # C45338...

  • Towing Capacity of 2014 Dodge Charger V6
According to the owner's manual, the 2014 Dodge Charger has a 1000 lb towing capacity, regardless of the engine it's equipped with. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13093. You won't be able to take full advantage of the capacity of the hitch itself, but I would still recommend going with the more popular 2 inch receiver provided by a Class III hitch because there's a much larger selection of hitch mounted accessories available for a Class III hitch. To tow with...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for a Subaru Ascent
I have a couple of options for you depending on the height of your Subaru Ascent's receiver. If the top of your hitch ball needs to be at 18-1/2" for your travel trailer then you will need a ball mount with rise not drop. From what I can tell the receiver height is anywhere from 12" - 13" above the ground. I have listed a couple of ball mounts below that will get you to the right height. Both of them have plenty of capacity for your Safari Condi Alto 1723 trailer. You will want to be...

  • Ball Mount and Ball Recommendation for 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab V8 and Boat Trailer
For your 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab V8, I recommend the Draw-Tite Aluminum Ball Mount # 4283 based on the coupler height you gave. It is a Class III ball mount with a 7 inch rise with a tow rating of 12,000 lbs. This mount will be a good fit based on your coupler height with the hitch height of the Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite trailer hitches you referenced as it will provide a level tow for your boat trailer. If you would prefer a more economic option, I would recommend the Draw-Tite 6-3/4...

  • Recommended Ball Mount With 7 Inches of Rise for a 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe
The Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2793 does have the needed 7 inches of rise, but from the center of the pin hole to the closest edge of the upright gusset is only 3 3/4 inches, so I don't think it will work with your vehicle, unfortunately. That being said, we do have a couple other options available for you. The Brophy # EA80 has the needed 7 inches of rise, but at the closest point it is 4 1/8 inches to the center of the pin hole. This does rise pretty quickly and may still work for you, but...

  • 8 inch Drop Ball Mount and Interchangeable Hitch Ball Recommendation for 2 inch Hitch
I attached a link to a page that has all of the 8 inch drop ball mounts we offer for 2 inch hitches like what you have. The Draw-Tite, part # 2793, would work great as a standard 8 inch drop ball mount. It sounds like you are then looking for a way to easily interchange between hitch ball sizes. For that the Convert A Ball part # 900b would be a great option as it has the ability to easily change between a 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. I attached a review video for this...

  • Distance from Center of Hitch Pin Hole to Support Gusset on Draw-Tite Ball Mount 2793
On Draw-Tite ball mount # 2793, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the support gusset it is 4 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest part of the gusset is approximately 6-1/2 inches.

  • Trailer Hitches for 2020 Kia Sportage with Clearance for an Inclined Driveway
The ground and bumper clearances on the Curt Hitch # C13281 and the etrailer Hitch # e72TR are both about 13 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver, although the etrailer does appear to hang a bit lower because of the safety chain loops. I recommend the Curt hitch since it offers a bit better clearance. Since you are worried about the incline of your driveway, I recommend using a rising ball mount such as this Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2793, which can be used for a 6-3/4 inch...

  • Can Extension Be Used On Dual-Hitch Receiver On 2014 GMC Terrain
Anytime an extender is installed on a hitch receiver, it reduces the towing capacity and tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. If you have a dual hitch installed on your 2014 GMC Terrain, there should be a plate or sticker affixed to the hitch that shows the tongue weight capacity and towing capacity of the hitch. If you have a hitch installed and are using a dual-hitch adapter, the adapter must be rated for towing. Many of the dual hitch adapters we carry are rated for tow bars only...

  • Ball Mount for a 2014 Toyota RAV4 to Tow a Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Level
The ball mount that you use is going to depend on the trailer hitch you have on your 2014 Toyota RAV4. If it has a 2 inch receiver opening then it will not be a problem. But if it is a 1-1/4 inch opening that makes it a Class I or II hitch and you are supposed to use a specific ball mount indicated by the hitch manufacturer. Since Yakima is measuring that 22 inches to the top of the ball and all of the ball mounts are based on measuring to the bottom of the coupler instead you would actually...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2009 Subaru Tribeca Towing a Casita Trailer with Sway Control
I believe what you have is friction style sway control. All you will need is a Reese Sway-Control Bracket, # RP26003. This will fit on 2 inch ball mounts. Or, for 1-1/4 inch ball mounts, use # RP26005. If your 2009 Subaru Tribeca has a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, the recommended ball mount is # AMSC2. If it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver, the recommended ball mount is # C45521. I have included a link to our ball mount FAQ article for you to view.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and Boat Trailer
There are a few things to consider when choosing a ball mount. First you need to know the hitch capacity, which should be on a sticker on the hitch, the receiver size, and a couple of measurements to get the correct rise or drop ball mount to tow the trailer level. I have included some links that will help. Ball mount # 2793 will fit 2 inch hitch receivers and has a max drop of 8 inches. It is rated for 500 pounds tongue weight and 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight. If these figures will...
