Good to buy a product that's EXACTLY as described. The 4 3/4" rise is what I needed. I previously bought a "Curt" mount from a local store and the actual rise was a full 1/2" different than what the decal on the mount stated. This DrawTite has clean looking welds and a nice finish. Angled cut makes inserting smooth. I appreciate that the large sticky decal peels off cleanly. 733733

Not a problem with the product. Just between the receiver and the trailer hitch assembly, there wasn't any pin to hold the pieces together. I was hoping it was all complete, but now I have to find the pin the holds everything together when towing. Not an end of world, but an annoyance. 704581

Trailer hitch has performed like a champ. Towed my boat flawlessly. The installation was very easy to do. Only problem was the dirt in the cars threads which had to be tapped out but that was not the hitch installations problem.

I had trouble finding a 4-3/4" rise at any local stores. Etrailer shipped it out in a reasonable amount of time. Using this to pull a small trailer behind a Toyota Sienna and needed the 4-3/4" rise. Packaging needs some thought. 2" ball was coming out the side of the box when it was received. 263221

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

  • 6 inch Drop Ball Mount Recommendation for Truck Towing Motorcycle Trailer
When determining how much drop you need from a ball mount you have to measure from the top of the hitch opening to the ground and then from the bottom of the coupler lip on the trailer down to the ground when it is sitting level. So since you measured from the bottom of the 2 inch hitch and got 17 inches that would mean you need a drop of 6 inches actually. For a ball mount you then would want the part # 40346 which has a 6 inch drop. For a hitch ball with a 2 inch diameter you...

  • Recommended Ball Mounts For Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing Ball
I may have an option for you but the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball part # C40047 is a 2" ball with a 1" diameter shank so this will not work for your ball mount with a 5/8" hole. If you would like to switch out your ball mount you can use the RockerBall with a ball mount with a 1" diameter I have attached a couple of ball mounts below that will work with the Rockerball since I am not sure how much rise/drop you need in a ball mount. If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'd also need a few other items. You'll need a trailer wiring harness, part # 118803, a ballmount like # 40346, a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball like # 19261 or a 2 inch ball, part # C40004. You'll also need...

  • Ball Mount and Hitch Balls for 2018 Ford Escape Titanium
The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the anti-rattle device on the Solid Tow # DTSTBM6600 is right at 2", so it's not going to work if you've got only 1-1/2"; this also does not come with a 1-7/8" hitch ball. For these reasons it's really not going to be a good choice. What I recommend doing is using a regular rise/drop ball mount with a 6" drop like the Draw-Tite # 40346, which fits in a 2" receiver and uses hitch balls with 1" shank diameters. For that you can use the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40346, which will fit your 2 inch receiver and has plenty of capacity at 6,000 lbs. • Recommended Hitch and Towing Equipment for Towing Small Enclosed Trailer with 2017 Jeep Cherokee
The Curt Class III part # C13171 would work great for towing a small enclosed trailer, as long as its fully loaded weight is less than the 2000 lb towing capacity of your Cherokee. The hitch itself has a higher capacity, but you'll be limited by the capacity of the lowest rated component, which is the vehicle in this case. No fascia trimming is required and as you can see in the linked video, installation is pretty simple and straightforward. You'll also need a trailer wiring harness...

You are correct the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter Shank - Chrome - 7.5K part # C40047 does have a rise. On a standard hitch ball it sits flush with the ball mount but the RockerBall has the included height of the shock absorber which makes it about 1-1/2" taller than a standard ball. This is important when choosing a ball mount. You want to choose a ball mount that has an additional 2" of drop if your ball mount is in the drop position. For example if your...
