Trailer Hitches for 2020 Kia Sportage with Clearance for an Inclined Driveway

Question:
I am considering a Curt Trailer hitch for my wife's 2020 Kia Sportage as it appears to be about 2 inches closer to the bumper than the etrailer. I am hoping to be able to haul a small enclosed trailer about 1100 pounds. It looks as though I will have to put a step up ball into the receiver as the average trailer receiver is about 18 inches high. We have an inclined driveway that the hitch carrier on my Sonata catches on. Will this be an issue with pulling the trailer up the driveway? P.S. I am looking at the class 3 receiver.

The ground and bumper clearances on the Curt Hitch # C13281 and the etrailer Hitch # e72TR are both about 13 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver, although the etrailer does appear to hang a bit lower because of the safety chain loops. I recommend the Curt hitch since it offers a bit better clearance.
Since you are worried about the incline of your driveway, I recommend using a rising ball mount such as this Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2793, which can be used for a 6-3/4 inch rise. This ball mount doesn't come with a hitch ball, so I recommend # C40002 for a 1-7/8" ball, # 40038 for a 2" ball, or # C40007 for 2-5/16" ball. The hitch pin is also sold separately, so # PC3 is a great option if you need a pin and clip for the ball mount I mentioned.
