  • Hopkins
  • Plug and Lead

This heavy-duty, coiled cable adapter is compatible with a 7-way RV blade trailer socket on the vehicle and adapts it to work with a 4-way flat or 5-way flat connector on the trailer.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty, coiled cable
    • Weatherproof jacketing
  • Easy-grip connectors
  • Tin-plated terminals for corrosion resistance
  • Nite-Glow illuminates on taillight function to verify continuity

Specs:

  • 3' Cable when stretched
  • 7-Way RV blade to 5-wire flat connector
  • 18 Gauge wire: stop/tail/turn
  • 16 Gauge wire: ground/reverse
  • 3-Year limited warranty

Note: Works with a 4-way flat connector plug on your vehicle as long as it does not have any unusual housing that might prevent the connection from being made.

Flex Coil Adapters provide increased durability and the additional length that may be necessary to reach between the tow vehicle's socket and the trailer/towed vehicle's plug.

What an awesome product. It is very robust, well made, and heavy duty.

by:

Very high quality and the coiled cord prevents accidently dragging the ground.

by:

Product is for my sons truck looks great nice and heavy but flexible

by:

I recieved my coiled 7-way to 5-way connector adapter 3 -days after ordering it. It is excellant quality. Expalnation and pictures where very helpful on the web site so it was easy shopping. I will always order my triler supplies from E Trailer.

by:

5 pin receptacle worked good with 4 flat too!!

by:

Works perfectly

by:

Great product. We used it with our Toyota 4 runner to tow our boat. Since the Toyota 4 runner electrical plug in is so far behind the rear bumper, we needed this extension in order for there not to be any issues with the wiring for boat trailer to become disconnected from being too short. The cord being coiled allows the extension to be as long as needed without possibly being drug on the ground.

Good. No issues.

by:

Looks a little short. I will try it to morrow.

by:

This seems to be super high quality with thick cable and great end connections. Fit the 7 prong outlet on my 2011 4Runner perfectly. It'll be connecting to my new boat trailer. Super fast shipping and correspondence from etrailer.com.

Its still holding up great. It generates a lot of interest and other boaters/trailer haulers are impressed by it.

by:

This is a good connector to have if you pull various trailers with your truck. The coil gives a little extra in the event that the trailer pigtail is short. Second one I have purchased.

No problems.

Perfect length for my 5th generation 4runner that has the cable connector far away from the hitch.

Still working great a year later.

by:

Bought this adapter because my "new to me" Ford F150 had a 7 way connection and my boat trailer had a 5 way flat...

Product arrived just as advertised, appears to be high quality, and took about 5 seconds to get my boat trailer and new truck hooked up.

All of the lights on the trailer worked great, and I didn't have to run a wire from the reverse light on my truck ( which you would need to do if going from a 4 way flat to a 5 way flat in order to disengage the surge brake on the trailer)... Very good product, fast shipping! Thanks again guys for the help!

Great wish I had it years ago.I dont have to worry about the plug pulling out when I go around a corner.

by:

This is a robust connector and just the right length -- not so long that it drags on the ground and long enough to keep from pulling trailer wiring during turns. It is a heavy duty connector with heavy insulation that should wear a long time.

by:

Heavy duty and the perfect length for my Toyota 4runner which has the 7 pin connector far from the hitch.

by:

This is a high quality trailer cable from an American company. it is exactly what I was looking for and expected. etrailer was also very responsive and timely.

by:

Needed a longer cord between my truck and boat trailer since I changed the length for the ball mount. This works perfectly with it and I can use it with my other ball mount of different lengths.

by:

Excellent quality. but after adding 4" heightener to level the tow bars to the Jeep, which added 6.5 inches in length it was too short and not useable.

by:

Ellen was outstanding. Very informative and knowledgable. I would recommend her advice and etrailer.com to all my friends. *

by:

A neccessity, would order again, I like the indicator glow light

by:

Needed a wring converter and couldnt figure out which one. Called etrailer and Karen found what I needed within a couple of minutes. It arrived on schedule and I used it today.

by:

I'm replacing my old connector from my boat to my truck and this 7 way to 5 way flat is heavy duty enough to do the job and the flex coil keeps the added length from dragging the road.

by:

etrailer has some of the greatest customer service I have experienced in a long time , I ordered several things to outfit my toad and from start to finish they were a class company to work with .
New customer for life !

by:

Bought this wiring cable last year, I love it still. I can tell when its connected, the coils keep it from dragging the road. Great product!

  • Braking, Wiring, and Charge Kit for Flat Towing 2013 Ford Edge
The best permanent install style tow bar braking system is the Demco Stay n Play part # DM86VR so you are definitely on the right track. The Hopkin lighting kit part # HM56001 installs easily as it is custom fit for your 2013 Ford Edge and doesn't require any splicing. The coiled adapter part # HM47075 and the charge kit part # RM-156-25 would be all you'd need in addition as well.

Hopkins has a custom fit tow bar wiring kit that fits your 2013 Ford Edge with the part # HM56001 that installs by plugging inline with the taillight wiring harness. Then for a umbilical to connect from this to your RV 7-way you would want the part # HM47075 which has an extra pin you can use for the charge circuit. • Can 10 Gauge Wire be Used to Create Charge Wire beween Tow Vehicle and Toad
Using 10 gauge wire to make a charge wire for your toad vehicle is totally fine and actually very cost effective. We sell double bonded 10 gauge wire with part number # 10-2-1 (sold by foot) which would work well for this as the two wires are bonded together. You would not have to worry about overcharging at all either. The tow vehicle's alternator already has a voltage regulator that will keep the voltage in a healthy range.

No problem, I will be happy to help. The 7-Way you have is called a blade or RV style. The center pin will either be for reverse lights or auxiliary 12-volt power. If the trailer does not have reverse lights or does not need a second 12-volt circuit, then it would not matter if the adapter had it or not. If the trailer has an electric reverse lockout feature, common on boat trailers with surge brakes, then you would need that center pin in the adapter and the center pole on the vehicle...
