When you flat-tow your 2013 CR-V you will need 5 items. You need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting for the CR-V, and most states now require a supplemental brake system. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains flat-towing you can check out.
I recommend Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522. The adjustable arms on this tow bar allow you to easily attach and release your CR-V. That is the advantage over the Falcon tow bar, part # RM-520. Both of these tow bars have a 6,000-lb capacity.
The Sterling All Terrain, part # RM-576 also has the Freedom Latch like the Falcon All-Terrain that makes it easy to attach and release, and also includes the electrical wiring that has a 7-way RV-style plug for motor home and 6-way plug for towed car, and safety cables. This tow bar has an 8,000-lb capacity.
If you do not go with the Sterling All Terrain tow bar you will need safety cables like part # RM-643.
For lighting there are a couple options. One of the easiest to use is part # RM-2120. These hook into rear hatch that will hold it in place.
Another option for lights is to use a lighting system like part # 154-792-118158. This is wired into the CR-V wiring.
Fuse(s) must be pulled during towing. Please check owner's manual. If your owner's manual says to only pull the #19 ACC radio fuse, use part # RM76511. If it states to pull the #19 ACC radio fuse and the #20 ACC key lock fuse, use part # RM76512.
To attach a 4-way on the vehicle to the RV you can use part # HM47075.
For a supplemental brake system I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251. The installation is more involved than some other systems but after that it's one of the easiest to use. You just flip a switch to activate it when you're ready to tow. You also need a Brake-Lite, part # RM-88400, relay to keep your Honda's lights from overriding the motorhome's.
You will want your tow bar as level as possible so I have attached a link to our product page for high-low adapters we offer.
