Question:
i need a towed veichle wiring kit from a 7 wire plug to a 5 pin plug that goes from my Motor home to my towed veichle. Towed veichle is 2004 Toyota Tacoma. I need the 5 pin as I want the motor home to keep the battery charged in the Tacoma. the Tacoma requires the key to be on while towing to unlock the steering wheel. I have the 5 pin wire from the tv to the Tacoma. I need the wiring to the Tacoma and an adaptor from 7 pin to 5 pin Thanks

In order to provide a maintenance charge to your battery on your Tacoma when it is being towed you will need a couple things. The first thing you need is to determine which pin on the 7-way at the back of your RV will provide the 12V power you need.
Then you can use an adapter like part # HM47075 to attach to the 7-way on your RV. This has a 5-way on the trailer side of the adapter. You then need to find which pin on the HM47075 when plugged into the RV has the 12V power. You may need to re-wire the 5-way on your Tacoma to get all of the functions to match. You can run wire like part # 10-1-1 or # 12-1-1 to run from the 5-way pin on your Tacoma to the battery to provide the maintenance charge while being towed.
If you do not have a circuit tester to determine the functions of the wiring I recommend part # PTW2993.
