When it comes to towing your 5 pin aluminum boat trailer with your 2009 Toyota Tacoma with a 7 pin round you need Hopkins Endurance, Flex-Coil Trailer Connector Adapter - 7-Way to 5-Way or 4-Way Flat with Nite-Glow # HM47075. The 7 pin side will plug into your vehicle and the other side will be a 5 pin which will plug into your boat trailer.
The stop/tail/turn wires are 18 gauge and the ground/reverse are 16 gauge. I like this wire because the nite-glow illuminates on the taillight function to verify continuity.
