    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing

    • Plug in connector

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Great product! Went on very easily, tests OK. I have yet to hook the trailer up to it, but the tests confirm that it is working. One problem I had is that the locking tabs break off too easily, not only on the pickup, but also on the new wiring harness. You should be able to make those out of an unbreakable plastic, or find an alternate means of securing the connectors.

Great!

2007 Ford Ranger

The wiring harness that I was sent did not mate up with the connectors that were on my 2007 Ford ranger. They were supposed to but they did not I had to cut connectors off on both ends and simply solder the wires once I did that it did work, but I was pretty disappointed that the connectors did not mate up.

Fantastic Item. More expensive than regular harness. No need to splice and tape. Instructions straight forward. Professional install w/o the headaches. Definitely worth the extra cost. I recommend it highly. Item was initially out of stock, Etrailer kept me posted on delivery status. The harness arrived before promise date. It was a pleasure doing business with them. • Trailer Wiring Replacement Recommendation for a 2007 Ford Ranger
Was the connector you found on your frame rail a round connector like what the part # C55515 would plug into? If so that would provide you with a 4-way. Or if you are looking of a 7-way you would want the part # 74682. If for some reason you couldn't get a T-connector like the part # HM40655 to work the only other option would be a hardwire kit like part # 18252. The part # HM40655 is a confirmed fit for your truck though and will work as it was designed specifically for your truck.

  • Installation of Hayes G2 Brake Boss Trailer Brake Controller on 2004 Ford Ranger
We do have a video of a brake controller being installed in a 2002 Ford Ranger but it's not the Hayes G2 Brake Boss as that part is no longer available. With that being said since the truck is the same generation as your 2004 and brake controllers are universal as far as the installation goes the process is basically the same. The video also uses our installation kit, part # ETBC7, which you'll need if your Ranger doesn't have a 7-way connector. The kit installs into an existing 4-way...

  • Recommended Brake Controller And Wiring For 2007 Ford Ranger
Brake controllers are not vehicle fit specific, so yes, they interchange. I confess to having a favorite brake controller and it is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that has an LCD screen. It is so easy to understand and see what you need in real time. I'm not a fan of all the codes as it is constantly confusing people, and this controller avoids that. It is customizable to your driving preferences and has 3 levels of boost. For your 2007...

  • 2 Inch Hitch For 2003 Mercury Mountaineer With 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
A 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter is not available for towing, those are for accessories like bike racks only. So if you want to tow with the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer you'd need to add a 2 inch hitch. The good news is there is a hitch designed to fit directly under the OEM hitch so you don't have to remove it, and what you'd need is the following: - etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55KR If you also need a 4-way wiring harness the correct part is the Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM40655.

  • Recommended Trailer hitch Receiver For a 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4
I recommend installing our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e29AR on your 2008 Ford Ranger 4x4 with the 4.0L 6 cylinder engine. The frame mounted receiver may require the drilling of 2 additional holes as Ford did not drill these holes in every Ford ranger. There is also not a bolt on receiver for your bumper. I have linked the installation instructions below so you can see where the holes are ahead of time to determine if you will need to drill. If you will need a 4-way flat connector...

  • Recommended 4-Way Wiring Harnesses for a 2007 Ford Ranger w/ and w/out the Tow Package
Installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C55515 will not require you to flash the ecu on your 2007 Ford Ranger. This harness installs on the Ford Ranger's with the factory tow package. If your truck didn't come with a 4-way or 7-way connector you will need the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness item # HM40655. This harness does not require the ecu to be flashed either.

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Ball Mount Recommendations for a 2010 Ford Ranger
The hitch I recommend for your 2010 Ford Ranger is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e29AR because it has a matte black finish that looks better and is more durable than the classic glossy black finish we see on the other trailer hitches for your truck. Then for wiring I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM40655 because it tees in behind the tail lights so the installation will be much easier than a splice-in type wiring kit. You'll want to pick up brackets...

  • Parts Needed to Add 4-Way, 7-Way and Brake Controller to 2003 Ford Short Bus
On a vehicle like your 2003 Short Bus E-450 that does not have any factory wiring you'd have to start with a 4-way to add a 7-way anyway so your best option would be to start with a 4-way for now like the part # HM40655 and then later convert to a 7-way with the # ETBC7 so that you can install a brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR.

The Curt 2" Trailer Hitch - Bumper Mount - 8-3/4" Bolt Pattern - 5,000 lbs GTW # E-3S is not a custom fit hitch but it will work for your application on your 2007 Ford Ranger. Your bumper capacity will remain your towing capacity when using this hitch. The Curt # 13138 is a much stronger option that attaches to your frame instead of the bumper. It will be a much better option for most towing and for other accessories, so it is my recommendation even though the # E-3S will work for your...

  • Recommended Vehicle Wiring Harness With 4-Way Trailer Connector For 2006 Ford Ranger
For your 2006 Ford Ranger, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM40655 you mentioned. This harness is all you need. This harness will connect to your factory wiring with the clips. The connections are located behind the tail light on each side of your truck. It is a simple plug and play application.

I recommend installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR on your 2004 Ford Ranger. This has a very small profile and doesn't take up a bunch of space on your dash. If your Ranger came with the tow package and 7-way connector you will be able to wire the controller to the factory wiring under your dash. For a Ranger without the factory prep you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This and a Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring...

  • Choosing a Ball Mount with the Correct Rise and Drop
To determine the rise or drop you'll need in a ball mount you will want to measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler with the trailer sitting level. Then with you 2004 Ford Ranger sitting level measure from the ground to the inner top of the trailer hitch receiver opening. For example: you've measured your trailer at 19 inches already. • Replacement 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2004 Ford Ranger
Have you checked under the hood for any towing related fuses? It sounds like you blew a fuse on that trailer wiring circuit if the vehicle has factory trailer wiring. Either that or the wiring is damaged somewhere between the connector and where it wires on your vehicle. One solution we do have is to install the Hopkins 4-way part # HM40655 which will bypass your factory 4-way and give you a new one that is ran by the taillights of your 2004 Ford Ranger and will allow all your trailer...

  • Choosing a Trailer Hitch for 2004 Ford Ranger with Full Size Spare Tire
We have trailer hitches for your 2004 Ford Ranger that are designed to fit a full size spare tire, but unfortunately Draw-Tite does not provide a list of what size spare tires will and will not fit to determine if your P225/70-15 size spare tire will work with the Draw-Tite # 75082 trailer hitch.
