Features to know about

Installs Without Splicing: Plug-In T-Connector Harness

Wiring a trailer can be tricky when factory wires are buried behind trim. This Curt T-Connector harness makes the job clean and simple with its plug-in connectors. It ties into your vehicle’s existing wiring through matching plugs, so you don’t have to cut or splice a single wire. Just snap the connectors in place and you’re ready to hook up your trailer lights.

Built-In Converter Syncs Separate Circuits: Ready for Standard Trailer Wiring

Many vehicles have separate brake and turn-signal circuits, but trailer wiring combines those signals. The included converter takes care of that automatically. It merges the brake and turn lights into a single circuit so your trailer lights work exactly as they should, with no extra adapters or guesswork.

Hidden Installation Keeps Wiring Out of Sight

The harness mounts behind interior panels and trim, staying protected from the elements and out of view. You get a clean, factory-style setup with no loose wires hanging under the bumper. Everything tucks neatly away once the 4-flat connector is in place.

Reliable Power for Trailer Lights: 4-Flat Connector Output

At the end of the harness is a standard 4-flat trailer connector that supplies running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the common plug style for small and mid-size trailers, giving you a dependable connection every time you tow.

This connector works great. So much better than the old way of cutting and splicing the wires.
by:
05 Scion xB! Direct fit! Took minutes and boom done! As advertised its plug and play highly recommend!
by:
Nice wiring system, plugs right in. Instructions are a bit vague as to HOW to remove body panels (always scares me to pull at panels, afraid I'll break them). Once the threshold and passenger side panel were loose, everything plugged right in, and there was a good place to drill a hole for the grounding screw.

Harness was relatively easy to install. The only trouble was due to my vehicles small access hatch over the taillight plugs. Harness has been working great and was of great quality.

  • Does the Muffler Have to be Removed to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2005 Scion xB
According to the installation instructions for CURT Trailer Hitch, # 11487, you will not need to remove the muffler in order to install the hitch on your 2005 Scion xB. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. The hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. If you plan to do some towing you will need a ball, # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use Curt Wiring Harness, # C56030. I have included a link to...

  • Correct Trailer Hitch Fit for a 2006 Scion xB
The only available trailer hitch we offer for a 2006 Scion xB is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11487 which is a direct bolt-on fit with no drilling required. This trailer hitch has a class I, 1-1/4" receiver which can be used for towing (if applicable) or hitch mounted accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. If you will be towing however you'll also need the Curt # C56030 and Curt Towing Starter Kit part # C45147. Unfortunately, there are no trailer hitch options from...

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2006 Scion xB
Yes, if you install a trailer hitch on your 2006 Scion xB you would be able to connect to a rental trailer. I really like this hitch as it's totally hidden when not in use. You'd need to use the ball mount part # 28451 and for hitch balls part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. For trailer wiring you'd then want the Curt # C56030 which installs easily without splicing and has a very reliable converter box. To help with rear suspension sag when towing we have...

  • Can the Tongue Weight of a Vehicle Be Increased
I may have a solution for you to haul your TVs, but there is no way for the tongue weight of a vehicle to be increased. To start, the tongue weight refers to the amount of weight that can be added to the frame of the vehicle safely, so there isn't a way to add to that capacity. With that said, the Curt # C11487 would be a great hitch for your 2006 Scion xB because of the durable powder coating that Curt hitches come with. Once you've got the hitch, you would need to get a small utility...

  • Can a 2006 Scion xB with a Curt Hitch Tow a Sailboat and Trailer that Weigh 400 lbs
The Curt Trailer Hitch # 11487 that you referenced has towing capacities of 2,000 gross trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. If your sailboat and trailer only weighs 400 lbs and you can lift the tongue of the trailer with one hand this hitch should be more than adequate for your 2006 Scion xB. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out. It would still be a good idea to check the tongue weight of your trailer when its loaded just to be sure. I linked...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for Use with Curt Hitch # C11487
Sounds like you might be looking for the correct draw bar, or ball mount, for use with the Curt hitch part # C11487 that you referenced. For that Curt recommends the part # C45521. For a hitch ball you'd then want the part # A-82 for a 2 inch ball or part # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. For a pin and clip part # F-4. If you needed trailer wiring you'd want the Curt kit part # C56030 which is an easy to install kit that does not require splicing.

  • Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on 2006 Scion xB
The Curt # C56175 trailer wiring harness you mentioned is not a vehicle specific item, it can be used with many different vehicles and therefore there are no vehicle specific instructions available. To install the wiring harness, having a circuit tester like part # 40376 would be very helpful. Locate the wiring harness feeding both of the taillight assemblies. You might need to do some disassembly in the cargo area of the vehicle or remove the taillight assemblies as if you were replacing...

  • Recommendation for Carrying a Pronto M91 Electric Wheelchair with a 2006 Scion xB
With the 2006 Scion xB having a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds, I am going to suggest a different option to pull the Pronto M91 electric wheelchair. You will need to start the same way with a trailer hitch, like the Curt # C11487, but you will need a few more parts to complete this set up. From here you will need a ball mount, like # C45521, a pin/clip to keep it in the hitch, # F-4, and a 2" ball, # A-82, to install in the ball mount. You will also need a wiring harness,...

  • Everything Needed for a 2006 Scion XB to Tow a Small Trailer Carrying a Motorcycle
For your 2006 Scion XB, I recommend starting with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11487. This is a custom fit and will use ball mount # C45521, along with pin and clip # F-4 and ball # A-82. The wiring harness for your vehicle is the Curt # C56030, which will connect to the factory wiring behind the trim panels in the cargo area on each side. Then you simply need your small trailer with a 2 inch coupler to match the hitch ball and you'll be good to go. You may want to consider a wheel...

  • Recommended Trailer Towing Ball Mount for a 2005 Scion xB
It sounds like you're looking for a ball mount to use on a 2005 Scion xB and if that's the case then we do have some good options for you but it would be best to determine what trailer hitch is used first. We currently only offer one option; the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11487 and in which case you would use the Curt Class II Drawbar part # C45521. The Curt Class II Drawbar would then require the Curt Hitch Pin and Clip part # F-4 and the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball part # C40001 or 2"...

  • Hitch and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2005 Scion xB
For your 2005 Scion xB the hitch I recommend is the Curt # C11487 which has a concealed crosstube for a more concealed look! For trailer wiring the best option is the Curt Wire Harness # C56030 which is very easy to install with plug-in connectors that match your tail light connectors. For a hitch ball you'd need just the part # A-80 and you'd be set.

  • Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2006 xB
The Curt Hitch # C11487 that you referenced would be an excellent choice for a hitch for your 2006 Scion xB. This hitch has more than enough capacity for your 800 lb tent trailer and comes with a 2 inch ball as well. I attached installation instructions for this hitch for you to check out also. For a 4-way wiring kit that is confirmed to fit your vehicle and is plug and play I would recommend the # C56030. I attached installation instructions for this product as well.

  • Correct Trailer Wiring Harness for 2006 Scion xB
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56030 that you mentioned is the correct custom harness for your 2006 Scion xB. From what I could find, your vehicle's factory wiring system should have the brake and turn signals sent along separate circuits. This Curt harness includes a converter to combine these two circuits so that they're compatible with standard trailer wiring (which has the brake and turn signals sent along the same wire for each side). I'm not quite sure what you mean...

  • Why Does Trailer Wiring for 2005 Scion xB Require Taillight Converter
So trailer wiring has the turn signals and the stoplights on the same circuit and the running lights on another. Some vehicles are wired like this too but some are also wired where the blinker is on a separate bulb from the brake lights. So the convert the separate style to a combined style a converter box is needed. That's what comes with the trailer wiring harnesses that fit your 2005 Scion xB like the Tekonsha part # 118414 which is a confirmed fit and the best option as it installs...

  • How to Transport a Powerchair with a 2006 Scion xB
I can definitely offer a solution to transport your wife's heavy powerchair but you are in a bit of a pickle. Your 2006 Scion xB was designed as a passenger vehicle which is why there is only 1 trailer hitch available, the Class I Curt # C11487 with the 1-1/4" receiver, and your owner's manual advises against towing anything with it. With that being said, the safest option for you is to use a small trailer to transport the powerchair. This trailer hitch has a tongue weight capacity of...

We have exactly what you'll need to tow your trailer that has a 2 inch coupler ball with your 2006 Scion xB. You'll want to first start with a hitch which for that the Curt # C11487 would be exactly what you would need. For a ball mount you'd then want the part # C45521 and then for a 2 inch ball part # A-82. Last thing you'll then want is trailer wiring. Which for that the Curt harness part # C56030 and you'd be set.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for a 2006 Scion xB
We do have trailer hitches that will fit your 2006 Scion xB but # C12490 only goes back to 2008 models. For your 2006 you can use the Curt hitch # C11487. If you plan on doing any towing the correct ball mount to use is # 3593 . For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # C56030. • Using EZ Mount Tow Light Kit on 2005 Scion xB When Bike Rack Blocks Tail Lights
If the bike completely obscures one of the tail lights so that it is not visible at all through the bike, then using the Roadmaster # RM-2120 would be a great solution. As you said, you would also need the Curt Harness, # C56030 to provide a connection for the EZ mount lights to plug into. Installing the harness is a straightforward procedure, as you can see by looking over the installation instructions that I have linked to.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2006 Scion xB
There is only currently one hitch option for your 2006 Scion xB. It is the Curt Class 1 # C11487. This has a 1-1/4 inch receiver tube for a ball mount or accessory like a bike rack. If you are planning on towing a light trailer, I recommend the ball mount # C45521, pin and clip # F-4, and Hitch ball # A-80. You will also need the wiring harness # C56030 which will plug into the factory wiring harness behind the trim panels on each side of your cargo area.
