Lock up your Rightline Gear cargo bag with this steel cable lock. The 35" retractable cable adjusts to the exact length needed to secure your bag in a web of steel, and the lock has a 3-tumbler combination that you can set - no keys needed.

  • Locks up your Rightline Gear cargo carrier
    • Steel cable secures your bag's zipper, locks the bag to your roof rack, or does both
  • Uses a 35" long, retractable cable to lock your cargo carrier
    • Pull out the exact amount of cable needed - the rest stores inside the plastic housing
    • Thread the cable through the D-rings and zipper pulls on your bag and then through your luggage rack
  • Secures any cargo bag with zipper pulls that have cutouts to run the cable through
  • Lets you choose the 3-digit combination you want for the lock - no keys to lose
  • Designed with a lightweight plastic housing so that it won't scratch your roof
  • 1-Year warranty

Specs:

  • Cable diameter: 0.68"

Rightline security cable looped through bag straps and luggage rack to secure it to the car roof

The Rightline Gear security cable locks your cargo bag to your vehicle's luggage rack, locks the bag itself using your zipper pulls, or does both. Just run out as much cable as you need from the plastic housing. Then loop the cable through the D-rings and zipper pulls on your bag to lock it, and through the luggage rack rails to secure the cargo carrier to your car. Next, insert the free end of the cable into the lock to close the loop. The long steel cable keeps thieves from removing the carrier from your roof. Or, to use the lock with other cargo bags, simply thread the cable through any zipper pulls that have cutouts on the tabs, so no one can unzip your bag.

Set the three-tumbler combination lock with your choice of numbers. Now you'll have no keys to lose or thieves to curse. And the lightweight plastic housing won't scratch your roof while it guards your gear. The cable lock works with Rightline Gear rooftop cargo carriers or other cargo bags with open tabs on the zipper.

This carrier is the largest waterproof bag that I found. I will be using it to transport various sundries to and from my children's college. Of course the lock will be necessary when we need to park it overnight and so no worries. The best little gizmo--the 'step stool' is ingenious!

We just got this cable lock for our cargo bag which we used in the bed of our Nissan Frontier for a road trip. We used this over a week long trip and it worked fine. Easy to use! Overall quality appears to be alright, although I'm worried that the retracting cable will malfunction at some point if it was going to be used frequently. Overall - worth the price!

by:

I ended up not needed to use the lock. If it is anything like the cargo bag, then it is well worth the money and a quality product.

Did the job....easy instructions. Plastic yet rugid

All the products I buy from etrailer.com are top drawer, quality-wise. The marketing is terrific with the pictures and “how to” videos. I am well-satisfied with my many purchases for self and others from this site, as well as the person to person telephone and e-mails with etrailer. My singular complaint is delivery, as I find that delivery times vary from two to as many as six weeks. Fortunately, I am able to anticipate my needs and am not effectively inconvenienced by delays for shipping, as I understand etrailer.com is at the mercy of its suppliers, and that it is not reasonable to expect the wide variety of products to be “in-stock”.

by:

Easy to use and secures the saddlebag's zippers to the bag.

by:

Product is in working order. Recieved it within a week. Thanks!

  • What Hard or Soft Shell Roof Storage Methods do You Recommend for a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
For a great hard-shell cargo box that fits your Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbars, I recommend the Inno Box 2020 - 14 cu. ft. # IN86FR. The 2020 comes with a dual-opening lid to comfortably open the box from either side. Also, it comes an injected-mold construction to withstand debris impacts, scratches, and UV rays. Not only does this box attach to your Vortex Aero crossbars, you also have the proper crossbar spread required to mount the box. This is because I confirmed that with your previous...

  • Mounting Tool Box and Changing to Larger Tires on Lees-ure Lite Camper
You could potentially mount a trailer tongue toolbox like the White Buyers Products # 3371701679 to a pole tongue like what's on your Lees-ure Lite Camper but it's going to require some custom/fabricated brackets. You would need to first come up with a plate wide enough to support the toolbox base and then either bolt or weld it to the tongue. Honestly your best option to create some more cargo space for tools or other items would be to mount a small chest or even a cargo bag like the...

  • Recommended Lock for Securing Rightline Cargo Bags to the Roof of My Vehicle
If you meant to ask about how to securely lock the Rightline Cargo Bag # RL100S30 you were looking at to your vehicles roof, I have a solution for you. I recommend the Rightline cable lock # RL100640 for their cargo bags that has a retractable steel cable that is 35 inches long. This steel cable secures your bag's zipper, locks the bag to your roof rack, or does both. You can even pull out the exact amount of cable needed to help prevent theft. In addition to having a steel cable the...

  • How to Lock a Roof Mounted Cargo Bag to a Roof that has No Roof Rack
I have a solution for you. When using a roof top cargo bag like the Rightline Gear Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S20 you can use the Cable Lock for Rightline Gear Cargo Bags # RL100640 to secure your bag's zipper, lock the bag to your roof rack, or do both. Since you do not have a roof rack to lock the cargo bag to, you can use the SeaSucker Cable Anchor for Cable Lock # 298-BA0010 to provide an anchor point for the cable lock. • Can a Roof Cargo Box be Legally Carried on a Trailer Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier
When carried on a trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier such as # C18110 or any cargo carrier, your cargo box would be considered the load on it and not necessarily part of the cargo carrier assembly. As such it would be legal provided that the cargo box is properly secured to the cargo carrier. If you do not want the box permanently mounted to the carrier you could use ratchet straps, such as # EM34420 to secure it to the carrier. Another option is to us a cargo bag on the carrier, #...

  • Can an Inno Fairing be Locked to a Roof rack on a 2014 Mazda 3
The Inno fairing # INA262 does not have any built-in locking mechanism, none of the fairings do, but there may be a way to lock it. You could potentially use Rightline cable lock # RL100640 which is designed for luggage. You would likely have to create a hole in the fairing to run the cable through and wrap it around a crossbar. This is pretty much the only way it could be locked. Inno fairing # INA262 is the correct model listed for the 2014 Mazda 3.

  • Will Rightline Cable Lock Fit a Thule Roof Mount Cargo Bag
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Cable Lock # RL100640 to take some measurements to determine if it will fit a Thule cargo bag. The widest part of the cable is the lock part at the end and it is 0.249 inches in diameter (1/4 inch). The cable itself is 0.68 inches (just over 1/16 of an inch). As long as the hole in the zippers is at least a 1/4 inch in diameter this lock will fit your Thule bag.
