Installation of Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bag on 2008 Mazda CX9 With Sunroof

Question:
To avoid interference with the sunroof would I use the straps that run through the inside of the vehicle or with the car clip strap set. Also is there anyway to lock this without a roof rack/crossbar.

You can use either the inside straps or the Rightline Car Clips, part # RL100600, to attach the Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bag, part # RL100S20, to your 2008 Mazda CX-9. It would just be a matter of preference on which system you would want to use. If you are mounting the cargo bag over the sunroof you will not want to operate the sunroof.
I would also recommend to use the Rightline Non-Skid Protection Pad, part # RL100650, under the cargo bag to protect your vehicles roof and to keep the bag from sliding around.
I am including a picture of a similar cargo bag attached to a vehicle with a sunroof. It shows the cargo bag being installed over the sunroof with the inside straps.
It will be hard to lock the bag to your vehicle if it does not have any roof rack or side rails to attach to. The lock, like the Rightline Cable Lock, part # RL100640, will need something permanent to attach to.
