Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Cargo Buckle Ladder Rack Straps for one inch to two inch Round or Square Bar Ladder Rack Tubing. And as you can see, it is for a quantity of two straps. Now, these are heavy duty ratchet straps. that'll let you easily secure the cargo to your ladder rack.
Basically, to operate it, you can see you can pull this release lever right here, move your handle all the way into the full up position, let it go, and that holds it so you can pull out as much strap as you need. Move the handle and wrap the strap around the ladder. Once you get it around the ladder, what you'll do is go ahead and hook this. You can see there's a hole at the bottom of the bracket here. Go ahead and hook the double J hook right to the bottom of that, and then pull this and put it into the ratchet position.
And then go ahead and ratchet this, and you'll ratchet the strap tight until it's around your ladder. And then after it's tight, pull it again, put it into the very bottom position, and it locks it into that position to hold your ladder in place. Very easy to operate. Again, we mentioned it has a push button release right here. It is a self retracting design, so it allows for easy, rapid loading and unloading.
Basically, the unused strap portion will retract into the housing, allows minimal ratcheting and convenient storage. And then to unhook it, all you have to do is unhook it from here. Once it's unhooked, then all you have to do is you can pull the release lever if you want, and you can see that that'll self-ratchet it back into place just like that, and now you're ready to hook up again. Very simple to operate. You can see on the handle itself, it is a sure grip rubber coated handle.
Makes it very easy to grip and control with just one hand. Even if you have a glove on, you can operate it. Offers dual safety locks to ensure that the ratchet arm stays in the open or the closed position. And it is a nice, durable construction. Offers long lasting performance. Has a corrosion resistant steel body you can see here. The polyester webbing on the strap is a seatbelt quality webbing. Uses a sturdy plastic housing and a stainless steel spring. And this part is crash tested to ensure that your cargo stays in place. Now, this will permanently mount to your ladder rack with the included brackets you can see that are attached to the straps, and all the hardware you need for installation. It is designed to fit one inch, one and a half inch, or two inch round or square tubing. It is for a quantity of two ladder rack straps. The strap dimension itself, if we release it, you can see is a two inch wide. Total length on the strap, if you pull it all the way out, is six feet in length. Maximum load strength on this strap is 2000 pounds. The safe working load limit is what you want to go by, that's a third of that, is 667 pounds. And when we talk about the working load limit, basically tie down straps must be chosen according to that safe working load limit. So the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of straps that are being used. So for example, if you're using straps that have a working load limit of 500 pounds each, and you're tying down a load that weighs a thousand pounds, that's gonna tell you need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is usually always recommended that you use straps in pairs. But that's gonna do it for the review on the CargoBuckle Ladder Rack Straps for one inch to two inch Round or Square Bar Ladder Rack Tubing.
Ratings & Reviews
Excellent product. Secures to 1 1/4" bar. I use it to strap ladders onto my Thule bar. Double J hook is much easier to use than two "S" straps found in traditional cargo ratchet straps.
Bolts onto bar very easily - 4 bolts per buckle.
Yes its a good product but I need to order some more again .....The spring loaded mechanism wears out and doesn't retract the webbing, you have to just ratchet it manually. The coating around the handle is coming apart too .....The webbing has been good and has not broken. We use the straps everyday. Ive used these straps for over 3 years now and need to replace once a year or so. Much better than other straps ive used....Overall its a great product.
Excellent edition to my ladder rack, certainly worth the money. Thank you so very.
Excellent straps. Bolts directly to Thule bar which reduces time spent searching for straps or fumbling around trying to attach s-hooks onto Thule bar.
Customer service is first-rate! Product was backordered which delayed shipment approximately two weeks. E-trailer contacted me by phone and email explaining the delay and offered solution by recommending an alternative, similar product. I chose to wait for product to become available. E-trailer stayed in touch by email and phone to update me on status of shipment. They have EARNED my continued business.
We are a fire sprinkler company. We have found these to be the best straps to use for strapping our pipe down to the racks. Pricing is fair, shipping was fast, material was excellent and undamaged. I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of fastening items to pipe/ladder racks.
This is the 4th time I've ordered these CargoBuckles. They are excellent for attaching to ladder racks. We use four per rack for both are full size vans and smaller Ford Transits. I've had the oldest ones for four years, with daily commercial contractor usage. They have never failed. Other contractors see them and ask me where I got them. They cost a few bucks more than other similar products, but it is absolutely worth it. THEY ARE TOP QUALITY. I've always ordered them from etrailer.com because they are always in stock, they are the best price that I could find, and the order service and shipping has always been spot-on. I don't normally write reviews, but this product has earned mine.
My husband has a tree trimming business and carries a lot of ladders on his rack. He's been using bungie cords to secure the ladders in place. He LOVES these ratchet straps! He spent Christmas day installing them and uses them daily. Thank you for such a great product. You have made his life safer and more secure!
GREAT ADDITION TO MY RACK. EASILY AND QUICKLY TIE DOWN ANY LOAD.
MY FIRST USE I PACKED 12 SHEETS OF 1/2 PLYWOOD AND 12 SHEETS OF 1/2" DRYWALL TOPPED OFF WITH 25 2X4'S AND THESE STRAPS WORKED FLAWLESSLY
Have strapped and un-strapped at least 2-3times a day for over a year and still have no issues with this product. The straps are still in good condition which was what I was worried about the most. Ladders are the most common thing I have strapped down, but I have used them to strap down large loads of trim and lumber and never had a problem. I started with four for my ladder rack and I ended up purchasing two more to have more versatility with smaller ladders and material. Would recommend this product for any commercial truck with a ladder rack.
Our trucks and Van's are outfitted with pipe racks and toolboxes by [truck accessory company], and since we found these cargo buckles we have swapped them ALL
Out ....using this product only!!!
Excellent product!!!! Great shipping time!!!
A must have item
These tie downs work great. Very convenient fast for me. Tie-down very heavy loads more than my ladder rack should be holding. Not one failure with the straps. Plan to buy more in the near future for another truck
I welded them to my headach rake a year ago and they work great. So very convenient
The Cargobuckle Ladder Rack Strap has worked out great for me as Iam a Carpenter/Contractor. I have 4 Straps on my truck rack. Two on each side to strap down small loads of lumber as well
as ladders as I need them. I also use them to carry my Kayak. The straps save me time to strap down material so I don't need to use ropes or bungee cords to do that. The straps are easy to use once
I got used to them and secured items very well. I would highly recommend them as they do a great job.
These ratchets are great! Its nice having them bolt straight to the rack. Unlike regular straps when you are working on one side and the S-hook keeps falling off the other side, these attach fast and secure quickly. Its like getting a new tool.
we work for a water company and it sure makes it easier to strap the pipe down with the retractable straps! They are still going strong with no problems. I have seen smaller ones, but we need the heavy duty ones, so they are perfect for our needs.
This product is awesome. Easy install. One of the best ratchet straps I've ever used. Love the retraction on the straps. I'm actually going to buy another set that's how good they are.
It’s a upgrade of the old style lumber rack straps , very happy with the heavy duty quality, they don’t need a rod to tighten and they also self retract.
I don't have much time using these straps yet but my initial impression are they seem well made. Mounting wasn't to bad with a sharp drill bit and steady pressure they were on the pipe rack in no time. One thing I didn't like was the hardware that came with the straps. The included nuts should have been nylock nuts. They were your normal nut. Also did not include any washers. Being that I needed longer bolts anyway I bought some grade 8 bolts and washers and nylock nuts. The ones included were grade 5. So for about $12.00 I was ready to bolt them on.
Etrailer has fast shipping, great pricing and great customer service. Will continue to use them and recommend them to friends.
Product is good just like the last ones we purchased. Only thing more we could ask for is a solid steel latch kit to lock ladders down on our Jeeps and Rangers for trips up washes and mining roads in the mountains through mesquite groves and creosote bushes in southeastern Arizona.
