The Thule Canyon XT cargo basket allows you to easily transport a wide range of gear on your vehicle's roof. It maximizes your vehicle's cargo carrying capacity and keeps dirty and damp gear outside of the vehicle. A built-in fairing reduces drag and wind noise, and the mounting hardware is adjustable to accommodate different crossbar spreads. The included 20" extension piece allows you to adjust the basket length as needed.
The low-profile Canyon XT is wedge-shaped and aerodynamic. A wind fairing attaches to the front of the basket to help redirect air up and over the basket. This helps to reduce drag and wind noise. And the side walls are tapered for easy loading.
The basket has universal mounting hardware that fits most crossbar styles, and the hardware adjusts to accommodate most crossbar spreads.
You can position the hardware anywhere along the bottom of the basket to match your crossbar spread. The hardware easily clamps to basket's bottom rails.
To install the basket, simply align the included U-bolts under your crossbars and use the hand knobs to tighten them to the mounting hardware. The system includes 3 sets of U-bolts to accommodate most crossbar sizes.
You can also mount the basket directly into your crossbar's top channels using the included T-bolts. Just slide the T-bolts into the crossbar top channels and use the hand knobs to tighten them to the mounting hardware.
This basket comes with an extension that allows you to customize the length of the basket depending on your needs.
You can bolt all 3 pieces together to create a long basket to carry kayak paddles and other long cargo. To install the extension, loosen the bolts on the bottom of the basket with the included Allen wrench and remove the front of the basket. Slide the ends of the extension into the bars of the basket and re-secure the front of the basket to the extension.
Or simply bolt the front and rear pieces together leaving out the 20" extension to create a standard size basket for bags, camping gear, and other compact cargo.
