Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

I actually got my hitch the date they said it would be here to my surprise. When the box arrived it was pretty much beat up, not the hitch just the box. I wished there was instructions how to install it. Overall very satisfied and will buy from 5hem again

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

This has been an amazing multipurpose ball mount. We purchased this to use with our Hollywood Bike Rack and also to connect onto our boat. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was awesome. It is very well built and We had to make some minor adjustments to the position of our boat on the trailer so the turning radius of the bike rack that was attached would clear the truck. This is very well made and solid.

Great extended hitch. Very solid. Allowed room to drop tailgate while trailer attached due to built in trailer jack.

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

I use this hitch when I pull my horse trailer to make the stop/start transitions as smooth as possible for the horses in the back. It works great. I also love that its a category IV hitch. Really heavy duty. My truck sits pretty high, and the amount of drop - 8" is perfect. I never worry about hitch failure travelling with my horses - they're a heavy load, and any failure would be a disaster. Recently bought a Kubota RTV x900. The receiver is located under the bed. With the extra long ball hitch drawbar I can easily get to the drawbar and use a clevis to hitch my 5ft. wide mower or attach a ball and use the trailer. The pictures will illustrate the length of the drawbar which makes access very easy. The product is heavy duty and well made. Arrived today. Fast shipping, and thank you for that! Seems to be a quality ball mount. Just what I needed to get the ball lower to tow my trailer. With this, now the top of the ball is at 16" where it needs to be. Custom built receiver on my old moving box van. Just need to weld on safety chain slots and paint it. Can't drop the lift gate with the receiver in (its pinned on both sides), but hey....I can tow now.

Tow infrequently; got new(to us) 2015 RAM 2500 pick up to tow our 38’ touring travel trailer. Have a HD WD hitch & adjustable sway control hitch set up we use for this trailer, but needed a drop hitch for our smaller Travel trailer& misc use haul trailer,,,,both much lighter & do not require the sway control set up. This drop hitch & ball fit the bill perfectly as the needed drop did not provide suffice t ground clearances to utilize the WD hitch mount setup (which was not needed) for those smaller loads. E-trailer worked w us to get the product we needed & an option that was inexpenve but sufficiently rated to pull our smaller trailers! Very happy our results !

This ball mount fit the SUV just right. I needed a 5 inch rise and the mount angled away from the bumper. However, the load capacity was way more than I needed, but the fit made up for that. It's a little loose in the receiver so I will be adding a stabalizer to lock it in place.

Did not work on my truck due to custom rear bumper. Looks great on my friend's 2018 F350 4 X 4 diesel!

I have a truck with a class 5 hitch. Using the 2" to 2 1/2" adapter had a lot of play in it and this ball mount removed that play. The truck and me won't bounce around so much. Thanks for the great deal and fast shipping. Will be shopping with you again. Thanks again.

Very rugged ball mount and is longer than the typical length. Great option if you need a Class IV level mount with a little extra bumper clearance length.

I haul a 5.5x10 open trailer w/ a 900 lb. ZTR, a push mower, and a handful of other tools 3 days a week. It is what it is. It does the job, no problem. A little finish wear and rust on the ball, but nothing major. I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, which is probably responsible for the wear.

Purchased to extend the trailer away from the back of the vehicle, and increase the drop. Initially could not fit in to my receiver, eventually figured out that the end of the 2" square was mushroomed, had to remove excess metal with a rotary tool. now it fits as far as the first 5/8" pin hole. No issues with use - seems sturdy, metal finish seems durable. Didn't drop the trailer tongue as much as I had hoped, but that's on me - I was probably running a 3" drop before, but I thought it was 2".

Dual length to get past a spare tyre mounted to the rear door. The 1’ hole allows for a heavier grade of ball to be mounted. The product is well made and packaged. Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. I've got a lowered 1995 VW Jetta with a 1.25" receiver. I had to use a 6" extension along with a long, straight drawbar so any steep incline had me going at an angle and even then I would sometimes scrape. Some one had this drawbar on their Jetta and it looked good. With the measurements provided on this site I determined it would sit far enough away from my bumper and elevate the ball so my trailer wouldn't be angled down so much. Very glad I ordered this unit, it fits the car and works perfectly! Much better than my previous fix.

Great all around except for the fact that the retaining pin is a clip over, as opposed to a push through. That said, I simply safety wired the retaining clip and that took care of it. Very satisfied overall.
