Best 2002 Nissan Frontier Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

I haul a 5.5x10 open trailer w/ a 900 lb. ZTR, a push mower, and a handful of other tools 3 days a week. It is what it is. It does the job, no problem. A little finish wear and rust on the ball, but nothing major. I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, which is probably responsible for the wear.

Fits

Not much to say about this item, it all fits and the paint and welding look good. The storage bag is a little light for the weight it carries. The end handle is not useable, it really needs a two strap handle like a women's purse that wraps under the bag to support the weight of the two receivers and balls. I only mention this because Etrailer actually appears to be interested in providing a quality product, it would be a simple change.

This is the second cushioned ball mount I have ordered. Due to the different hitch heights on my vehicles, I needed a 2" drop on my new Nissan Frontier. So now I have a 2" and a 4" drop ball mount. These work great, they eliminate the harsh slamming and jerking you often get when stopping and taking off. They definitely smooth out the impact the trailer has on a vehicle, especially if the trailer is loaded with any weight. A good friend recommended the cushioned ball mount to me and I have not regretted buying it. I won't use anything else now on my vehicles.

My usage of your hitch is a bit unusual, I think. I pull a two ton roller with my Ram and I've used your cushioned hitch to smooth out the process. The roller Lunette just dropped over a 2" ball and then banged and jerked on the ball neck. Check out the photos for my adaptation.. I can flip it over and use the 2" ball! Have enclosed some photos. Very good product and I would have given it a 5 star rating but there is one critical flaw that is quickly remedied. When using the pintle hitch, the pressure exerted on pin while pulling a load can cause the pin to turn, thereby popping out the keeper pin. This happened twice and it was a good thing that I had the hitch positioned so that the pintle pin was installed going down allowing gravity to hold the pin in place even when the keeper pin fell out. I have since changed out this style of keeper pin with a cinch pin that can spin 360 degrees inside the 2" tube and no pressure is exerted on it by the load being pulled. If I were designing this from new, I would make it so that the draw pin on the pintle had a square shoulder much like a carriage bolt so that it can't turn thereby eliminating pressure on the keeper pin. Other than that it is a great product.

The Curt hitch arrived in perfect condition. I didn't have an extra pair of hands so I zip-tied it to my floor jack and lifted it into place under my Nissan Frontier, installed the six bolts, torqued to specs, and viola! All done. I meant to take a picture of the hitch mounted on my floor jack before I installed it but forgot... sorry. I'm very pleased with my purchase and the free shipping on such a heavy item was a big bonus.

The 5” B&W has worked great for me. This year I’ve towed an 18 foot speed boat, a 21 foot family boat, and a travel trailer. Used 3 different heights on hitch to accommodate each trailer, including the larger ball for the travel trailer. When all done, I use the stow feature too. No more hitting shins on the hitch! Quality unit, very happy with its versatility and solid craftsmanship.

Great heavy dury hitch for towing. Less noise than other hitches and does a great job pulling my boat. Love the easy adjusting to height based on terrain where you may need to change this. Worth every dollar and likely a hitch for life.

This is really nice. Beveled edges so it slips into receiver hitch so sweet. Beautiful welds heavy weight mount for my weigh safe ball. I bought a 10,000 lbs hitch and I wanted a draw bar with the same type rating. Now the only thing limiting my trailer capacity is my truck's ability to tow, not the hitch, bar or ball.

I like the look of this set very much and it is easy to mount and adjust the ball mount. The workmanship and finish are beautiful. Customer service was excellent in assuring I found the correct mount for my Ford Escape. I pull my 6'x10' utility trailer or very seldom my pontoon trailer. I like that the adjustable mount comes off very easily as I remove it until I need it while my vehicle is in the garage--it helps prevent knocking your leg against it in the garage. However, I am not having any luck loosening the bolt that secures the 2 chrome balls to the adjustable ball mount; I have the correct Allen wrench but cannot exert sufficient torque to loosen the bolt while the adjustable ball holder is off the ball mount. I want to put a different ball combination on so I can pull my son's trailer, which has a smaller ball than comes with the set, if I have to. I also added the anti-rattle device and it stops the mount completely.

Solid product that I look forward to using. It's appearance in the bright polished aluminum almost makes it too beautiful to use! The adjustable height settings will surely meet the requirement for any trailer that I'll ever haul. With a 39.25" upper wheel well from the ground measurement, the adjustable ball mount gives me a 16-to-21in measurement from the ground to the top of ball.

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

The hitch I ordered came very quickly. I was able to track it and I pretty much knew when it would be at my door step. The hitch was more then I expected Heavy Duty. Awesome quality and more features then I realized. The fit was perfect. I will be using the hitch on a front mount receiver on my 2014 Silverado.

This ball mount fit the SUV just right. I needed a 5 inch rise and the mount angled away from the bumper. However, the load capacity was way more than I needed, but the fit made up for that. It's a little loose in the receiver so I will be adding a stabalizer to lock it in place.

Did not work on my truck due to custom rear bumper. Looks great on my friend's 2018 F350 4 X 4 diesel!

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

After one year I'd love hitch. Exactly what I needed some pool might load level. Very strong in the powder coating is actually holding up for a change.

Retail type stores only carry mainstream items so when I needed a special length ball mount for my 2011 Traverse I found the size and quality with Curt Products .

Recently bought a Kubota RTV x900. The receiver is located under the bed. With the extra long ball hitch drawbar I can easily get to the drawbar and use a clevis to hitch my 5ft. wide mower or attach a ball and use the trailer. The pictures will illustrate the length of the drawbar which makes access very easy. The product is heavy duty and well made. Excellent product! With the three different ball sizes, this tri-ball mount gives you a lot of flexibility. Gone are the days of having several different ball mounts to fit different tongues. High quality construction makes this an excellent investment.

This item should solve the problem I have had with a stainless 3-way ball when I tried to reverse the position on the ball mount. The threads galled between the hex nut and hitch ball.
