Today we're going to be taking a look at part number TWSP14BP. This is the Tow-Rax Battery Box. The battery is going to keep your battery safe from the elements. It's also going to protect your trailer or work area should the battery ever leak. It can also be used as a storage box for a variety of items or different applications. Here on the sides, it's going to have a built-in latch mechanism.
This is going to make opening and closing of the box very quick and easy. This is made from a durable, lightweight aluminum construction. It's going to weigh about 8 pounds and then it has that nice polished finish to it. Now to go over the overall dimensions, outside to outside, measuring the edge right here and including the latches, it's going to give us a measurement of about 15-1/4 of an inch. If we measure the width, outside to outside edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 9 inches and then the overall height is going to measure about 10-5/8 of an inch. Those are the outer dimensions. Real quick, I just want to go over a few features of the box.
Here on this side, it's going to feature one hole. Now this is going to be to fit your 90 degree elbow as well as the PVC hose. This is going to act as a drain system or ventilation system. On this side of the box, you're going to have two holes. You'll need to install these rubber grommets.
These are included. These are going to be the holes that your battery cables are going to run out of. The rubber grommets are a nice feature to have because that's going to keep the cables from rubbing on bare aluminum. It's going to protect the life of your cables. Up here you're going to get the mounting posts. These are designed to go through whatever surface you want to mount the battery box to.
You'll have to drill some holes on the bottom of the box if you want to permanently mount this. There's no pre-drilled holes on here. The battery posts are going to run through your mounting surface, through the battery box on each side of the battery and then on the top it's going to get secured with this right here. This is going to offer you 7 inches of space. This is going to go over the top of your battery. The mounting posts are going to come up through these slots here and then you're going to install more hardware. This is going to push down the top of your battery and it's going to cradle the edges of your battery, which is going to prevent the battery from being able to shift around inside the box. Take a look here at the underside of the lid. We're going to notice a rubber seal. This is going to help keep out any moisture, water or dirt. When it comes to the internal dimensions of the box, it's going to give us an overall length of 13-7/8 of an inch by 8-3/8 of an inch wide by 10-1/4 of an inch tall. That's going to do it for our review of part number TWSP14BP. This is the Tow-Rax Battery Box with a Polished Aluminum Finish. .
Your great
After having it one year I have had no issues with light usage. I would definitely recommend it.
This is a nice quality product at a fair price- I'm 100% satisfied with the product; everything about it went smoothly... from ordering through QC- I would highly recommend this product-
The quality is amazing. It is expensive, but good quality. Unfortunately, it does not fit my modified Scamp trailer. Darn!! I have to send it back.
Great battery container.
In my opinion this item is overpriced for the quality of the box. It would be a good buy at half price. I had to trim the latch screws and the latches are soft metal. There's nowhere to mount the battery hold down without drilling holes in the bottom of the box. The lid seals had to be trimmed to make the lid seal. But I guess there's no sense in a lid seal anyway if you're going to drill holes in the bottom of the box.
It worked out great. I added two double hinge hasps to it and mounted it on my camper. This was my way to prevent my battery from being stolen a 2nd time.
Very sturdy construction
Mounted to trailer frame rail for easy battery servicing.
Good product. 2mm walls ( as measured by an imprecise metric ruler ), are sturdy and have a good heft. Associated hardware is of good quality and the lid seals well. Mirror shine.
It would be nice if an option were provided to secure the container from opportunistic theft.
Extremely well made! Purchased for my horse trailer jack and mounted inside the trailer.
I liked it so much as a battery box that I purchased two more to use as mini tool boxes
Outstanding product. I needed a battery box for my RV A frame. Other boxes were too big for the application. It fit like a glove with the slide-out. Perfect!
Decent product for price, perfect for front of trailer. works great with my electric jack. Sturdy construction.
Exactly what I was looking for. Clean and well built to house battery. I just couldn't imagine strapping some black, plastic box to my recently rebuilt front end on my vintage trailer to house the battery.
This box was welded together nicely and had a mirror finish. I am putting this on a boat trailer and wish there were a way to lock it, but other than that it is top notch.
If you want a good looking sturdy, waterproof battery box this is it. A little pricey but still looks like new after thousands of miles on the front of my camper.
