Towing over rough pavement or uneven ground can make the whole rig lurch and bang. This mount’s polyurethane interior works as a built-in shock absorber, softening the forward-and-back hits that happen when you start, stop, or roll over bumps. It takes the edge off vibration and protects your driveline, hitch assembly, and trailer load from that constant jarring motion.

Level towing makes a huge difference in how your trailer handles. This mount gives you both a 3/4" rise and a 2" drop so you can match your coupler height and keep the setup steady. With 9" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, it lines up easily for balanced, even pulls every time.
When you’re moving serious weight, you need hardware that won’t flinch. This solid steel ball mount is rated for 18,000 lbs gross towing weight and 2,000 lbs tongue weight, giving you confidence when hauling heavy trailers or equipment. The fixed design keeps things tight in the receiver without unnecessary movement or slop.
Rain, salt, and road grime are tough on towing gear. The gloss black powder coat on this steel shank resists rust and corrosion so it stays looking clean and strong over time. It’s made to handle daily use without needing special care after every trip.

No extra hardware or adjustment needed—just slide it into your 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" hitch receiver, secure it with a 5/8" pin (sold separately), add your choice of hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter hole, and you’re ready to tow. It’s an easy setup that works hard without complication.

I have one of these with 4' rise and love it for pulling my boat from Indiana to Florida and back every year. Just bought a new boat and trailer and ordered this one with 3/4" rise to better fit new trailer since new brake coupler design is a different layout. Highly recommend!
Works as it should. Cushions the movement of my Jeep that is being flat towed when I stop. It also dampens the sound that I don't even hear it in the cab. Shoot, it's so good that someone else helped themselves to my first one (read: stole) so I bought a second one.
Stout, much heavier/thicker steel than the 2" version. Cushion is nice on hard braking. Note that the front of the cushion is only retained by two small roll pins, so it's not appropriate for those who like to accelerate hard from a stop when pulling.
This receiver hitch is the quietest I have ever owned. No more noise when going from stop to going again, and the quality of the product is good.
If you've never used a cushion hitch because you thought they were too expensive, I
get it, but you don't know how much shock it takes off your drive line until you do. I now have three of them for different applications. One with a 2" ball, one with a 2 5/16" ball and one without a ball for pulling farm implements. Best decision and best investments I've ever made ! ! !
Easy HaulingWaited till I had put some miles on this hitch before doing a review as I was unsure of how well the cushioned hitch would perform, now done over 2000 miles towing 29ft cargo trailer with various weights and found that it performs very well under all conditions damps out most vibrations from the road and trailer and feels a lot better on the back of the truck than a standard solid hitch, especially at the weights and sizes a class v hauls would recommend this for anyone hauling larger size and weight tag trailers
I needed a 2.5 inch with very little drop for my 2017 F250 SD and a target 23.5 inch to top of ball for my trailer. Works great and has a good fit up with little movement of part in reciever. Appears well built and a lifetime part.
I was very pleased with etralier for filling my order promptly. I was not pleased with usps. When the hitch arrived the box had been damaged. It was empty. I contacted etrailer about the problem. They were very helpful and offered me a refund or replacement. I chose the replacement. It was shipped promptly in good shape. It was a pleasure doing business with etrailer. Jon
I don't pull every day but when I do it's between 10-14k and so far it's been holding up great!
Purchased this hitch to haul a 7x14 trailer full of goose decoys to Canada. Could not believe how nice to have no banging and jarring around on rough country roads. There were times you wouldn't have believed the trailer was behind us. Great product!!
I would not hesitate to recommend to any one of my friends.
This hitch works great, have pulled up to capacity, up to a dozen trailers a day, have small & large ball attached, easy to flip over to match trailer, cushion takes some of the roughness out of a stop, recommend it.
Good quality. Shipped in 3 days. Fits well into the 2 1/2” receiver on my 2013 Chevy 2500 pickup. No need for the adapter anymore. Only thing I don’t particularly care for is the large 1 1/4” hitch hole.
I can't tell if the cushioned part makes a difference or not towing our 6-7k lb horse trailer, but the good thing is it fits in my 2007 Silverado's receiver snugly without using a clunky, noisy adapter. This thing is super solid and should last a lifetime if it doesn't get stolen.
Excellent product. I have been using the Convert-A-Ball shock absorbing mounted hitch for 30 yrs on 3 1500 Chevy's and now a F250. The 2 1/2" hitch is massive and I expect the same great performance from it as all my others.
Nice product, fits well. Works way better that using the 2" version and the adapter sleeve in my f450. Took all the slop out and my hitch mounted mud flaps don't wiggle around anymore. The only thing I don't like is there in not a convert-a-ball type system for this size. Received prompt service from etrailer. Thank you.

This ball mount fits very smoothly, with virtually no "slop" when inserting into the truck's receiver. Don't know if this is the receiver or the ball mount that is made with good fit tubing, or both. The mount is clearly marked as to it's capacity. The "cushioning" effect of the mount is very subjective, but I have towed our trailer with load distributing that jerks all over the place. Some surging just cannot be avoided, but on the first trial run of about 15 miles the surging seemed reduced. On a side note, I have gone to this load bearing mount as opposed to the usual weight distributing system simply to avoid all the heavy hardware. I now have a F-350 long bed crew cab which very adequately tows with load bearing and it handles better than any tow vehicle-trailer combo I have ever owned. By the way, our travel trailer has a gross weight of 13,500 lbs and the tongue weight is 1350 lbs. The whole vehicle combo sits absolutely level. The rear suspension on the truck drops under the hitch weight so that the overload springs "just" pick up some load. The very long wheel base of my truck makes sway and sag a non-issue. I'm happy!
Love it!
Feel alot less jarring across dips and uneven road surfaces when towing my camper with the rubber cushion in the hitch.
I just received the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 18,000 lbs - AMSCV-2
I also received the 2" ball mount for my old truck...
They look to be well made...
The hole to put a ball or drawbar pin is 1 1/4 " .....So I will be making a Bushing to bring it down to 1"...This will be better for my needs...

I would recommend part # F-2 to reduce your 1-1/4 diameter ball hole to a 1 diameter hole.
Awesome product! Yes the poly "cushions" work and make a huge difference. I pull a 10,000lb +/- equipment trailer on a 2 5/16 ball. Highly recommended for heavy trailers in traffic. Needless to say etrailer has the best price and makes on-line ordering a breeze. Shipped fast and well packaged.

Still performing just like new. When I pull with other non cushion ball mounts it’s nightday difference.
quick shipping & arrived without incide nt.
Ordered this cushioned ball mount because the new truck has a 2.5” receiver and I didn’t really like the idea of using a reducer. Thought the cushion would be great for towing farm implements and wagons based on some of the other reviews for this product. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but it seems very substantial yet I was surprised at how light weight it was considering the 18,000 lb tow rating. etrailer seems to have all the coolest stuff at the best prices.

Works great! It definitely cushions the ride. Works so well I’m considering getting the convert-a-ball cushioned gooseneck for the new trailer.
I have used these for many years. I notice less noise, softer take off, and less push while braking.
Shipped quickly and was exactly what we wanted.
