Does The Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount AMSCV-2 Move Around In The Hitch

Question:
Will this ball mount cause wear inside the receiver due to the ball mount being able to move back and forth? If so, over time it could create some play and cause the cushion to become less effective. Love the idea of the cushion, just don’t want it to rub and wear on the receiver making the fit loose.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches part # AMSCV-2 does not move back and forth in the receiver enough to wear the inside of the receiver. The polyurethane interior of the ball mount does help to absorb vibration so it reduces the amount of slamming and banging that occurs especially when stopping. You will not need to worry about it wearing the inside of your receiver.
If you need a 2" hitch ball part # A-90 will work well for you. You can use part # 19286 for a 2-5/16" ball.
