If you want your setup to look clean when you’re not towing, this base plate kit does exactly that. The invisible design hides everything behind the fascia with no obtrusive crossbar or brackets left showing. The removable arms stay attached to your tow bar instead of sticking out from the bumper, so the front end keeps its factory look. Each receiver also includes a snap-on polyethylene cover that keeps out dirt and debris so the arms slide in and out smoothly every time you hook up.
Connecting is simple thanks to the twist-lock design. Just insert each tab into the receiver, give it a quick turn to lock, and secure it with the included safety pin. To disconnect, pull the pin, twist, and remove the arm—it’s that easy. The locking design makes it reliable for solo hookups in a driveway or at a campsite. For planning your setup, the distance between brackets is 36-1/2" and bracket height is 19".
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. If you already have a tow bar you like, there’s a good chance this will work with it. The base plate is compatible with all Demco, etrailer, and Blue Ox tow bars without an adapter. For Roadmaster tow bars, just pick up the matching adapter—e98983, e98984, e98979, or e98981 (sold separately). A built-in electrical bracket lets you mount a round connector plug up front to keep your wiring neat and accessible.
This setup is designed for straightforward installation at home using basic tools. It bolts securely to the vehicle’s chassis—no welding required—and all necessary hardware and instructions are included in the box. Many do-it-yourselfers complete the job in an afternoon after removing the front fascia for access. Once installed, it’s a clean, dependable setup that’s ready for years of use.

Solid product with great instructions. Several thousand miles of towing and still very secure, with no issues.
I think you techs should know that the not to over tighten bolts on the knuckle type connections so they may move freely. I called your firm regarding the tightness that made the vehicle extremely difficult to hook up. no one I spoke with had any solution. I called the manufacture direct and was told the connection bolts were self locking bolts and had no torque values. Was told to loosen bolts just enough to allow free movement of the parts. After adjustment hookup is now less than 5 minutes. Other than the 1 issue I am well pleased with product and instal
Super fast shipping and great customer service
I bought this because I already had Blue Ox tow bars, and it said I could order adapters in order to connect my tow bars. I had the base plates installed, and everything is good as far as I can tell. However, I haven't actually used them because I had issues installing the adapters (I will be submitting a one star review for the adapters because of those issues). As it turns out, I didn't even need adapters to connect my Blue Ox tow bars to these base plates.
This worked well for towing our Jeep Cherokee across the country and back this spring and summer, over 7500 miles total. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the connection for the safety cable is quite close to the main pin connection for the towbar arm, making hooking up a bit awkward. Only an inch of additional separation would greatly improve it. Nevertheless, it worked well for us. I’d buy it again, and install it myself again. Thanks, eTrailer!
