Do I Need the Mopar 68321424AB Wiring Harness to Flat Tow My 2021 Jeep Cherokee

Hi, I have a 2021 Cherokee that I'm needing to flat tow but I've been seeing stuff about a Mopar 68321424AB wiring harness. Is that something that I need for flat towing my vehicle? I'm a little new to this but I want to make sure I get everything right.

While it's true that the Mopar 68321424AB wiring harness has been required in the past, that changed a few model years ago so you will not need it to flat tow your 2021 Jeep Cherokee. For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Here are my recommendations along with any extra parts that may be needed.
etrailer Base Plate Kit - Part # e98951 for Trailhawk or part # e98953 for non-Trailhawk models (must not have the tow hooks)
etrailer SD Tow Bar with Safety Cables - # e34ZR
Wiring Kit - # RM-15267
Charge Line Kit - # RM-156-25
Braking System - # SM99251 (for motorhome hydraulic brakes) or # SM99243 (for motorhome air brakes)
Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
Please note that some models do use Mortorq® fasteners so you will need a PFMTS2E bit to remove them which can be ordered through a Snap-On dealer.
