Designed for use with motor-home-mounted tow bars, the direct-connect brackets are virtually invisible, easy to mount and remove, and they eliminate the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar on your tow bar. Installs on your vehicle's frame.

    • No obtrusive quick-disconnect crossbar

    • Built-in pull rings let you unlock arms so you can twist and remove them
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength

  • Simple installation - no welding required
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Compatible with Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars only

Note: Roadmaster direct-connect base plates will only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball.

The drawbars, or front arms, on this base plate kit are supremely easy to mount and remove. Just insert them into the brackets and twist to lock them in place. To remove each arm, simply tug the built-in pull pin to disengage the lock, twist the arm back and pull it out of the bracket. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Which Base Plate for 2016 Chevy Traverse with Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar with Blue Ox Adapter
From the photo you provided it looks like your Roadmaster Sterling tow bar # RM-576 has adapters for Blue Ox base plates installed # BX88262, so you'll want to use the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1706. These Blue Ox base plates will connect to the Sterling tow bar that you've shown. The fuse bypasses you'll need for a 2016 Chevy Traverse are the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles - (2) 20-Amp ATC/ATO Fuses # RM76514 for the ATO/ATC fuses and the...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2017 Chevy Traverse
Whenever available I recommend going with the Direct Connect Roadmaster base plates as having used both I have found that these are easier to use and don't require you to keep track of an extra component (the crossbar). So you'd want the part # RM-523175-5 for your 2017 Chevy Traverse. Now the Roadmaster Falcon # RM-520 is a really nice tow bar, but for a much easier to connect/disconnect option I would recommend the off-road version of the tow bar part # RM-522. This setup has easy to...

  • Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2017 Chevy Traverse
The first thing to check when you're wanting to flat tow your vehicle is your owners manual. There will be a sectional usually labeled as "Recreational Towing" that will state if your vehicle is able to be flat towed and what steps have to be followed to ensure the safety of your vehicle. You'll need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below: Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2013 Chevy Traverse
We have everything you will need to flat tow your 2013 Chevy Traverse but we do not have it as a single part number. The first thing you would need is a base plate kit like the Roadmaster # RM-523175-5 that fits your vehicle which is really easy to use. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terain, # RM-522. This has non-binding...

  • Roadmaster Base Plate Kit for 2016 Chevy Traverse
For your 2016 Chevy Traverse the correct Roadmaster base plate kit would be the part # RM-523175-5. It looks like your vehicle at most would be 50 lbs under the towing capacity of your Winnebago so I'd recommend keeping the vehicle free of any cargo weight.

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. THis tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so that you don't have to purchase them separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. • Recommended Flat Towing Set Up for a 2016 Chevy Traverse
We'll start out making sure your RV has a hitch and wiring harness in case you don't already have them installed. To add a hitch to your 2000 Newmar Mountain Aire RV, you will want the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13701. This is a universal hitch that has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, which is just enough to tow your Traverse. There are no custom fit hitches for your RV. For a 7-way you'll have to hardwire one in using the Universal Wiring Harness w/ ModuLite and Brake...

  • EZ4 or Ez5 Roadmaster Base Plate Kit for 2015 Chevy Traverse
The primary difference between the two designs is the way they attach to the tow bar. The EZ5 does not use the quick-connect crossbar which provides a cleaner look, but prevents you from using some accessories that mount to the crossbar such as a Rock Guard like the Roadmaster # RM-4000. If you are at all interested in using a rock guard or protective screening, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 # 523175-4 on your Chevy Traverse. Otherwise the EZ5 part # RM-523175-5 would be a great choice. In...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2014 Chevy Traverse
For your 2014 Chevy Traverse the first thing you need to flat tow it is a base plate kit like the part # RM-523175-5 which is the easiest to use option that fits your vehicle. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. • Parts Needed to Convert Roadmaster Blackhawk From Blue Ox to Roadmaster Base Plate
To go back to a Roadmaster base plate attachment for your Roadmaster Blackhawk part # RM-422 you'd need the Replacement Collars part # RM-9200-8. If the base plate kit you go with is one that uses a crossbar you'll also need a replacement crossbar part # RM-067. I'd go with the Direct Connect base plate kit part # RM-523175-5 though so you wouldn't need the crossbar. For lighting the part # RM-152-98146-7 would work great as it gives you a way to control the taillights of the vehicle...

The EZ4 base plates, # 523175-4, and EZ5 base plates # RM-523175-5 will both work with the Falcon tow bar. Both of these base plate sets are only compatible with Roadmaster tow bars that fit into a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and thus mount on the motor home. The Falcon tow bars do fit this description.
