  • Roadmaster
  • Removable Draw Bars
  • Hitch Pin Attachment
  • Partially Hidden

The crossbar-style hidden brackets attach to your vehicle's frame to provide attachment points for your tow bar. The visible portions of the brackets can be removed when you are not towing.

Features:

  • Hidden bracket design - drawbars are easily removable via 2 pins
    • Improved aesthetics compared with standard brackets
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength
  • Black powder coat finish is durable and corrosion resistant
  • Simple installation - no welding required
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Compatible with Roadmaster tow bars with use of quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00 - sold separately)
  • Instructions and mounting hardware included
  • Made in the USA
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The square drawbars, or front arms, on the crossbar-style base plate kit are simple to mount and remove, easily securing with hitch pins. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For a base plate kit for your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee you would want the part # 1411-2 as it has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting you can use the bulb and...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Since your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the Neutral position you can flat tow it. To flat tow your Grand Cherokee you will need a Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, Tail Light Wiring Kit, a Supplemental Braking system, and you also might need a High-Low Adapter. The base plate kit that I recommend is the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 1411-2. The great thing about this kit is that is has removable arms which will give the front of your Jeep more of an OEM look when you are not flat...

  • Flat Towing Setup for a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
To flat tow the vehicle you would first check the owners manual to make sure your model can be flat towed and to check on any special requirements. You would have to have base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution, and supplemental braking. The base plates # 1411-2 would be the correct base plate to kit. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I did a bit of research and the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee can be towed 4 wheels down, but you will need a drive shaft coupling to allow the wheels to rotate freely. You should always check your owners manual or with the vehicle dealer for complete instructions for towing your vehicle. Once you have a drive shaft coupling installed you will need to install either the Roadmaster Classic Base Plate Kit with Fixed Arms, item # 1411-1, or the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms,...

  • How to Find the Flat Towing Procedure and Parts Needed for a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Take a look in your owner's manual for a recreational towing section or in emergency towing to determine the proper procedure/gear that your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs to be in for flat towing. I can only go back to 2004 online so I cannot check the 1997 model year but I can tell you all the parts you will need. First, you will need base plates for the Jeep. If you want removable base plates (so they are not easily noticeable at the front of the vehicle when not towing it) I recommend...

  • Will Flat Towing a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 With Wheels Down Damage Drive Shaft
Your owners manual for your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo will give you the directions on flat towing your vehicle behind your Class A RV. Your owners manual will also tell you the steps to follow to prevent any drive shaft damage. I was unable to find your owners manual on line. The Roadmaster Base Plate # 1411-1 that you referenced is the correct base plate to use with your vehicle. These base plates will extend out in front of your vehicle when you remove the tow bar. The Roadmaster...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind a Motorhome
Flat towing and economical aren't usually two things associated with each other. There are several somewhat expensive components needed to flat tow a vehicle and honestly if you are looking for the most economical option finding a used tow dolly near you might be your best option. But I can share with you the parts you would need to flat tow your vehicle. You would need to start with a base plate kit like the part # 1411-2 which is a confirmed fit. In addition to the base plates, you...

The Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bar # RM-501 that you referenced would work well to flat tow your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but you will need a few more components to complete the setup. • Parts Needed For 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Base Plate Recievers
It sounds like you have most of what you need to flat tow your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. To flat-tow any vehicle you need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, wiring for lights, and braking system. The base plate you have is the Roadmaster XL, Item # 1528-3. Unfortunately, this base plate kit is not a confirmed fit for your vehicle. Each towed vehicle needs specific plates that mount to it so that the flat-towing is safe for it and the RV. I attached a link to a page that has all of the base plate kits we offer that will fit all models of the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee so any of them would fit your Laredo model. I would recommend the Roadmaster kit part # 1411-2 as it has removable arms so that when you aren't flat towing the vehicle you wouldn't have the brackets hanging off the front. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your...

I did some checking and your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4 liter engine and an automatic transmission can be flat towed as-is if you have 4 wheel drive or with a lube pump installed in the transmission if its 2WD. We do not carry lube pumps. For a base plate kit you'd need to start with the # 1411-2 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. When you install the Roadmaster Base Plate kit part # 1411-2 on you 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee you will end up removing a portion of the radiator core support hardware so in the step that you mentioned you will use the included tabs to re-brace the core support.
