Question:

I have purchased an extremely great shape 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, that has 98 sure a Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit – Removable Arms, your Item # 1411-2. I have 2 questions: #1: Can I purchase just the removable arms from you, as they were not provided when the vehicle was purchased, and #2 Can you suggest a simple easy to use and inexpensive tow bar to use with this base plate, as I will at the very most use it only 2 times a year to pull the jeep for no more than 245 miles to a cabin and then back home for the winter months if I should decide not to leave the Jeep up at the cabin.. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

We do not warehouse replacement arms for base plate kits however, we do have the option to order through Roadmaster Replacement Arms for Base Plate Kits, # RM-ARMS. Please follow the # RM-ARMS link and scroll down to the "Installation Details" pdf, complete the form and follow instructions for submitting.

For a tow bar that will match the Crossbar style base plates, I suggest the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520. This tow bar lets you tow your vehicle safely and securely behind your motorhome, it slides into the trailer hitch receiver on RV so no ball mount necessary. Please note the attached link to product review video. You will of course need safety cables, I suggest the The RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 as they are a great option to use with this tow bar.

Since you have purchased a Jeep with base plate mounts already attached you may the rest of the items needed to safely tow the vehicle, if however the it is not already set-up for towing with wiring for indicator lights and the needed braking system etc. I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154. and for supplemental braking I suggest the Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System, # SM99251.
