Question:

I am looking for a Tow bar set up, to tow my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, behind my motorhome. What do you suggest/offer. Any help would be appreciated.

To flat tow the vehicle you would first check the owners manual to make sure your model can be flat towed and to check on any special requirements. You would have to have base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution, and supplemental braking.

The base plates # 1411-2 would be the correct base plate to kit. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520.

For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.

For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.

Finally, most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. An easy system to set up and use is the Even Brake, # RM-9400, proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
