Question:
Can the Demco DM9518112 be mounted to a factory standard bumper on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport or do I need to use a different bumper?

You sure can Dan, that is exactly what it's designed for! The Demco Classic Base Plate Kit item # DM9518112 is going to attach directly to the factory bumper on your 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport. If you'd like to save some money our etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit item # e74FV is an identical part that does the exact same thing.
Here are the rest of the parts you'll need to flat tow your 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e34ZR. It works with both the Demco item # DM9518112 and our etrailer item # e74FV.
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into your factory wiring to transfer your motorhome's traffic signals to your Jeep's tail lights.
Supplemental Braking System - Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI44FR. This portable system will sit on the floor against the driver's seat to activate the brakes in your Jeep.
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
What kind of motorhome do you have?

Hey Dan, how did things go with mounting the base plate kit on your Jeep Wrangler Sport’s factory bumper? Your experience could point others in the right direction. Did you end up going with the Demco or the etrailer version?
