Will Demco Base Plates Work With Round Tube on 1988 Jeep Wrangler

Question:
Looking to flat tow my Jeep. I have a 1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ 5 speed transmission. I measured the 10 9/16” out from center of my bumper as per Demco instructions. There is a round tube behind my bumper which is part of the frame right in the way. Don’t believe the Demco base plates will work. Am I missing something. Thank you Jim

Hello Jim,
No you are not missing anything as the Demco Classic Base Plate Kit # DM9518112 will not work with a rounded portion of the bumper/frame. The Jeep should have a steel bumper shaped like a U with a flat top and face and no part of it rounded in order to use baseplates, including the Demco. There is not any type of alternative we can offer.
