If you like a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup keeps the front end clear. The tabless design means no bulky crossbar or protruding brackets—just smooth lines with nothing sticking out. The tabs stay on your tow bar, and the included covers snap into place over each pull point to keep dirt and debris out of the receivers so the connection stays smooth every time.
Connecting your tow bar is simple and solid. Each arm slides into the base plate receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pull pin for extra peace of mind. When it’s time to disconnect, just pull the pin, twist, and remove the arm. It’s an easy process that makes setup fast whether you’re in your driveway or setting up on the road.
The sturdy steel construction bolts securely to your chassis with no welding required. Its dependable design spreads towing forces evenly to help minimize weight on the suspension. The kit includes all necessary hardware and instructions for a confident, straightforward install that’s built to last through long trips and frequent use.
Already running a tow bar setup you like? This base plate works directly with Demco, etrailer, Blue Ox, Curt Rambler, and Demco Kwik-Tow tow bars without adapters. If you’re using Roadmaster tow bars, Demco offers specific adapters (sold separately) so you can keep your existing gear. An electrical bracket is included to make mounting a round connector plug simple and tidy up front.
With a distance between brackets of 24" and a bracket height of 18-3/4", this kit is built for consistent alignment and dependable towing performance. The high-density polyethylene covers help prevent corrosion inside the receivers, keeping everything ready to connect mile after mile without seizing or sticking.

Hi there flat towers. Today in your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Tabless Base Plate. We're showing it off here on the Oscar Mike Freedom Edition. You can see the bumper is a little bit different than your factory JK bumpers.Your base plate is one of five main components necessary when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. Your base plate provides a connection point for your tow bar to attach to, but in addition to that, you're also going to need your tow bar, which is the connection between your base plate and your motor home. You'll need your diode wiring, which takes the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them here back to our vehicle.
Our base plate does provide a bracket here for our electrical components. You'll also need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. And lastly, you need your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home.This is one of the easiest base plates to install. If you have a JK Wrangler pay attention to the style of bumper that you come with because there are different bumper styles from the factory. And if you have this style with the links here, it will attach directly between those two links and you can have it installed in less than 15 minutes.It's custom fit for this specific bumper from Jeep.
And again, it does go between those two and you can see it tucks up very nicely and it looks almost like it was supposed to be there. You've got your connection point for your tow bar here. And this base plate does come with ends that you can attach to your tow bar. It also comes with hardware and adapters so if you've got a different manufacturer, other than Demco, you get what you need to be able to attach the ends to that particular model of tow bar. Next to that, we've got our safety cable connection point right here.
And lastly, we've got our electrical component mounting bracket here, and this can be placed on either the driver's side or over here on the passenger side.Now that we've gone over some of the features, why don't you follow along with me in the shop and you can see really how easy this base plate is to install. We'll begin our installation by taking the bushings that come in our kit, and these are going to spit in the large hole here on the de-link, here at the front. We're just going to slide that in. And we're going to slide one in over on the other side as well. You'll have four bolts that come in your kit, you'll also get some blue Loctite.
Each of these four bolts we're going to put the blue Loctite on. I'm going to prepare two right now because these two we're going to be using in just a moment when we lift our base plate up. Take these two and then slide on one of the oval washers.Now with an extra set of hands, we're going to lift our base plate into position. We want to just roll it up to line your holes up there. Then we're going to take our bolt that we prepared and we're just going to thread it right into the base plate. Once we get one started on each side, the base plate will hold itself up, making it easier to install our lower bolt. Then you can line up your lower hole and thread it in.Now that we've got them started all the way around, we can go back and tighten them up with a 19 millimeter socket. We can then go back and torque our hardware to the specifications found in our instructions. We're now going to attach the safety cables that come included with your kit, and these are going to wrap around our frame and attach to this point. It's a little easier if you get it around the frame first. We're going to come in from the side, we're just going to start here on top, push it around the top of the frame, making sure that we don't pinch any wiring or hoses when doing this. And that can be the tricky part, is getting it around all that wiring and stuff because it is pretty crowded. Then once you've got it wrapped around the frame there, with nothing pinched in between the cable and the frame, we're just going to attach it to itself. We're going to take our quick link here, just run it through the hook and then wrap it around our cable. And then we can tighten that back down.And the other end is just going to wrap around to the side here, where we can attach it with our inaudible 00:04:29, we'll then do the same thing over on the other side. And just to make things look a little bit nicer and keep the cable up out of the way I did go ahead and zip tie the cable here. You don't have to, but it helps keep it nicer and cleaner. And in the event that you do need this cable, have a catastrophic disconnect, this zip tie's just going to break and your cable is going to function like normal.You'll also receive a bracket that comes included with your kit and this is for attaching any of your electrical connections to. Our customer's going to be adding a base plate diode wiring, a lot of other components so we're going to go ahead and attach this as well. You'll have two holes and these are all on both sides, the driver or passenger side so you can choose which side is best. The bolts that come in your kit we're just going to drop down through those holes, slide it through our bracket, and then on bottom, we're going to follow that up with a lock washer and nut. Then we can snug those down with an 11 millimeter socket and wrench.And that completes our look at Demco's Tabless Base Plate on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK unlimited.

Getting the front of my canyon truck off was a little tough but the installation of the actual baseplate kit was a breeze.
Well had to modify the baseplate. Gladiator Mojave X has oil shocks and the canisters are in the way of the baseplate. Had to cut about and inch off. Other then that perfect.
Great product, great finish, installation went great. Not happy about cutting holes in my air dam, but it hides it nice. Only complaint is I think the template to cut the holes out needs to be adjusted. I’m sure I placed them correctly and they are tight against one side and a big gap on the other. I’ve included pictures.
Decided to have a shop install it with the electrical and break components. No regrets. Works great.
I installed this base plate kit on my 2021 Jeep Cherokee. I have not had any problems it has worked very well.
Bottom bolts seem kind of a weak install in my opinion, I was able to put my facia back on with not cutting so that was good.

This is the third Demco baseplate I've purchased for three different tow vehicles, all were exceptional quality with very clear instructions as you can see in the photo it was a very involved install. Thanks for a very good product at a great price.
The face plate fit very well on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Overland. Even though on the Etrailer website, it says it will not fit, but it definitely does. The instructions are a little vague about which way to turn the center crossbar. In my case, I had to turn it upside down from how it shows in the parts layout on the front page of the instructions. Also the photo below showing the installation without the bumper cover on, has it the wrong way for my vehicle. I turned it over after I took that photo. I opted not to cut up the lower honeycomb grill and just leave it off, which allowed me to install the 6-pin connector and the breakaway switch very neatly with the supplied bracket. And if I ever remove the face plate, I can put back the original honeycomb grill and the vehicle will be 100% back to as purchased. I did not have to drill any holes whatsoever for the installation.
The quality and fit up was great, the only comment is the safety cables are too short and not able to use them. If you are looking at this product i would recommend it, just keep in mind you have to buy cables
Quality product with fast free shipping. Although it arrived with damage to the box from the baseplate moving around during shipping, there was no damage to the baseplate itself. Installed relatively easily according to the instructions.
Product seems very well designed and manufactured. Minor reaming of a couple of the holes was needed to align with truck frame. We used it with a Blueox tow bar so towing was flawless. I highly recommend this base plate.
This was NOT the easiest install. Lots of grinding and cutting of stock parts. Then the effort required to align all the holes after said grinding and cutting took considerable effort. eTrailer needs to do specific video on this product so buyers know what to expect. I can say this product is worth the effort but boy oh boy know what you’re getting into.
Very easy to install except for one item. The core support bolt holes need to be moved out about 1/4 inch. Had to trim the hole on the plastic shutter surround. Otherwise great fit on 2026 Ford Ranger. I’ve done many of these and this was the easiest. Price is definitely too much. Haven’t towed with it yet but looking forward to it.
I gave this 5 stars based on design and durability.Installation, however, is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Installation can be a real challenge, and even the best back yard mechanic might be a tad frustrated. The biggest problem in installation is NOT installing but getting ready to install. Removal od the tow bar hooks took more time than installing the base plates. We're talking a 2018 F-150 XLT Sport 4X4 crew cab. The pics show the finished product and the location of the safety can\bles.
Now that I have actually used the tow bar and base plates I am very happy with my purchase. Sets up easy and when not in use the cover plates make for a great appearance on the truck.
Order was shipped and received timely. Both products purchased look to be well made. Haven’t installed yet currently using a demco set up on a 2001 Cherokee sport. Up graded to a 2020 wrangler needing a new base plate and lighting. Eager to install on the new buggy!
This does not fit my 2025 ranger. I attached are a few images of the mounting location for the 9519343 base plate on my 2025 Ford Ranger with the Lariat trim and the 2.7l v6 motor. The aluminum colored piece interferes with the horizontal bar connecting the actual base plates. The base plate mounting holes are 31.5" apart, whereas the receiving nuts on the truck frame are 30.5" apart. I am returning this and have ordered a Blue Ox base plate.
Straight forward install. I have towed the Maverick about 7000 miles with no issues. The pins are a wee bight tight when mating to my Blue Ox tow bar. But that is loosening with time. A nice improvement would be a heavy duty mount for the umbilical plug
Lock tight both TUBES hard as a rock.
YOU Don't need lock tight at all as all threads in the nuts are lousy and no way to hand start anything. Had to run 4 or 5 bolts through each nut with an impact to free them up a bit. They should have piolet starter on each bolt and all threads should be clear enough for a hand start. This kit worked well as it does not require the bumper to be removed. BUT: LOUSEY BOLTS AND NUTS ADDED AT LEAST 30 MIN TO FIGHTING EVERY BOLT TO GET IT STARTED. 5 STARS FOR THE KIT. 1/2 STAR FOR THE BOLTS WITHOUT PIOLET AND NUTS THAT CAN NOT BE HAND STARTED.
I use only Demco baseplates as they are the only brand that mount with no cutting or drilling. The Excalibar tow bar is very well made and handles my Jeep Gladiator with ease. It's also very simple and easy to hook and unhook. The excellent "how to" videos from etrailer sure helped me make the correct purchase decision.
Was able to install without issues using 2 washers between base plate and the upper brace and none on the bottom, otherwise followed the video. Works great!
Just installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate and included 6 pin wire bracket. It was very straightforward and anyone who is a little mechanically inclined, can do it with ease. The etrailer video was incredibly helpful. I followed it step by step and had no issues. I love that it is a direct bolt-to-frame base plate and does not need any modifications. I spent a bit more time cutting out the gravel guard to form-fit the tabless connectors. The adapters are sleek and blend right in to the front end. Love how it turned out.
