BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Still works perfectly. I really love not having to carry extra keys! I pull my trailer everyday so this is a huge convenience.
Have been interested in the Bolt lock products and finally decided to purchase the trailer coupler lock, the receiver lock (primarily because I recently purchased the led step and wanted to make sure it didn't walk off) and the padlock just incase a need arises. Best part is not having to add another key to the key ring.
BTW, etrailer is great to do business with and love their fast processing/shipping.
Haven't had a chance to use the product yet for the fact I just received it yesterday...looking at the unit it is as advertised and the quality seems to be good. The two main features that I like is the adjustable pin for many dimensions of trailer levers and/or anything that a pin lock will work. The second great feature is the “programmable” ignition key…the lock is specific to the auto maker (mine is a Ford) and it’s very simple to program your vehicle’s key and works great!

I have this on 3 trailers, 1 hitch receiver, and 2 on my boats downriggers. They work great and now my keyring is less bulky. Been using them for years.

Works great. Nice to have only one key for my F-350 that has an lockable auxiliary tank/toolbox combo and is double pulling a fifth wheel with a dog trailer behind it.

Very happy with the Bolt locks and having all the locks keyed alike.
The lock mechanism adapts to and uses the vehicle key. I've read that the Ford F-150 is the most widely produced vehicle in the world; however, the lock would not work with my 2018 F-150 key. I returned because the lock didn't work as advertised. etrailer deducted $25 prepaid return postage. A losing proposition all around if you have a Ford F-150.

This coupler lock works with 1996 - 2014 Ford F-150s. For a coupler lock that would work with your 2018 Ford 150 it would be part # BL7025290.
Excellent product, used it on my month long trip through Utah, to Yellowstone and home. had no problem with my Bolt lock, really cut down on the keys I had to carry, have it on my bed cover on my truck, the hitch ball and the hitch lock. Very happy with the product will look for other of their locks in the future.
Very happy with Etrailer indwell use them again as needed.

Excellent product
I purchased a receiver lock and 3 coupler locks made by Bolt. I have a habit of forgetting to lock the coupler to the ball and driving off with the lock and keys on the bumper. This has happened twice causing me to lose both my first set and spare set of keys. I learned of Bolt locks and their ability to be keyed with your vehicle door/ignition key. I received my locks today and the easy to follow instructions had me insert my truck key and turn it clockwise till it stopped. I now have 4 locks matched to my ignition key, so no more leaving the key on the bumper. The receiver loch snaps onto the hitch pin without the key, but the coupler lock needs the key in for locking (just what I needed). These locks aren't inexpensive, but e-trailer had the best price I found. Another good deal from e-trailer.

Still very happy with my locks. This is the longest Ive gone without misplacing the keys, great being able to use the truck key for everything.
Excellent quality! Superior security! I have Bolt products on boat trailer and cargo trailer. The feature that all my Bolt products are all keyed to my ignition key sure comes in handy!
