Question:

I see eTrailer offers the RH5-XL with a rather traditionalfoot key design. Does eTrailer also offer the option to utilize a Barrel Lock / Key? Barrel Locks / Keys are traditionally more difficult to pick, etc... than more common keys.

The Blue Ox # BX88177 consists of two 1/2 inch diameter and 2 5/8 inch diameter pins. They are only able to have the 4 keyed alike. The measurement is 4-3/8 inches between the opening like # BX88212 which cannot be keyed alike . The only option to get all ten keyed alike is to use the DeadBolt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Extra Long - Flush Design for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # e98881 which measures 3-5/8 inches between the outside cylinders.

There is not a traditional style hitch lock that has the barrel style you mentioned that can be keyed alike. I do however have one more option for you that provides greater security. The Bolt Trailer Hitch Locks like # BL7018447 are keyed to a specific vehicle manufacturer key. There are many options and I've linked the page but they can only be linked to one factory key, no re-coding can be done. This style lock will be far more difficult to pick.
